Deep Fried Jalapeno Slices

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
These snacks were great. Everyone loved them, we served them with jalapeno cheese & Ranch dressing, they were gone in minutes. One suggestion I would recommend; coat them in flour first prior to the beer mixture. For a thicker breading repeat process twice

Hazelnut-Mushroom Pilaf

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Great recipe. Served this with & went very well with the "Anniversary Chicken I" (from this website) & broccoli/cheese. This pilaf had a wonderful flavor. I will add a TBSP of minced garlic next time as our family loves garlic.

Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
This was very good. My family loved it. the juice was perfect for gravy. I made this a second time but after cooking it, I removed the meat from the juice, shredded I (put juice in container & froze for gravy/soup base later use). I returned to crock pot and added the Bourbon Wiskey BBQ Sause (recipe from this site) for BBQ beef sandwiches served with fries. Everyone thought it was great. My husband & son both had four sandwiches each. Big hit.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
I have never cocked a whole chicken in the crock before. I have made this twice. The first time exactly as the recipe called: came out moist but not a lot of flavor. The second time I doctored up my chicken the same way I do my turkey on Thanksgiving. Came out wonderful and the entire house smelled as if it were Thanksgiving. I placed the chicken on top of potatoes, carrots & added 2 cups of chicken broth. After removing the chicken & vegetables from the crock pot, I added 1 C white wine & flour to the juice for mouth watering gravey. Everyone loved it. I love the ease of a crock pot for a great meal when we are constantly on the run.

Fluffy Seven-Minute Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
Wonderfully fluffy & creamy frosting. Tired it on a red velvet cake I made for Valentines Day. My daughter & grandson couldn't stop eating the frosting with a spoon. I think I will try it with some lemon extract to put on a lemon cake. Thanks for sharing

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2007
This was very good, I did however make a few slight modifications(based one my families likes). First, bake the bottom crust for 10 minutes. I used leftover turkey, I added minced garlic, diced potatoes & poultry seasoning. I will in the future add the veg. mixture to the sauce as others suggested prior to putting in the pie crust. My family loved it.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
OMG this recipe was wonderful. I used only 1TB sugar & 1TB brown sugar. I also used frozen mixed berries as the berries are not yet in season. FAMILY LOVED THIS. My son ate some over vanilla ice cream.

Breaded Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
These were very good, my husband loved them. I did not have buttermilk so I made my own (1 C of milk w/1 TBSP of white vinegar or lemon, let sit 10 min.) I also double breaded the chicken strips; after the chicken marinaded in the milk mixture I poured the mixture into a separate bowl, dipped the chicken strips in the bread crumb mixture, back into the milk, again into the bread crumbs and proceeded to fry them. Very good recipe.

Daddy's Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
This was a nice change of pace. We are not real big fans of sausage & peppers, but I had a package of mild italian sausage on hand & decided to try this after reading the reviews. I cut back considerably on the peppers: I only used 2 green bell & 1 red bell pepper(cut in bite size pieces), also added 1/2 C. of Marsala wine for flavor. I mixed with egg noodles after simmering and it was overall for my family very good with less pepper. (I think it would have been too overpowering with six peppers)

These are very good. I did not have any chervil, but they were still very good. My family couldn't stop eating them, I served them with spinach & artichoke dip. Will make again.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
WOW these are so easy to make. They are moist, sweet & crunchy. Everyone loved them. I doubled the recipe because these disappear fast. Made these a number of times. I've also made these with lemon, strawberry & peach, any jam you like works well. Tip: always make sure you jam or jelly is at room temp. for easier spreading.

Rib Eye Steaks with a Soy and Ginger Marinade

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
This recipe was really very good. I thought I had beer when I started but got to frig & my husband had drank the last of it. :) So I used a cup of merlot instread. Turned out wonderful. My daughter told me I had to start using this marinade on the steaks. I will try it again with the beer next time so I can rate it according to the recipe.

Candy Bar Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
My family loved this fudge, I myself thought the flavor was good but it was to sweet (then I'm not a big fan of fudge either). I will make this again but next time I may cut back on the sugar. I chopped the peanuts & used a whole bag of carmels.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I made these for food day at work. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of adding additional raisins (we like a lot of raisins in our cookies) They turned out wonderfully. My son would have eaten all of them if I would let him. This will definately be our families oatmeal cookie recipe. Made the whole house smell great.
