Pan-Seared Chicken Breasts with Shallots

Reviewed: May 23, 2013
Very good, just a bit bland. No leftovers so that says something! I did dredge the chicken breasts in flour, salt and pepper. Would make again.

Slow Cooker Herbed Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2013
Superb, husband loves it. I use dried herbs instead of fresh. Have had trouble getting hold of a decent sized turkey breast so have made with turkey steaks (adjusted cooking time) as well a huge butterflied breast I found for sale at the butchers (put the required ingredients inside then rolled and tied before putting into the slow cooker).

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
Superb - makes excellent and tasty french bread. Compared to store bought they taste far less salty which makes me wonder exactly how much salt the stores are using! Plan on making these again. Looking forward to lunch tomorrow.

Molasses Raisin Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2013
Really loved these. Made these into mini muffins. I made half the batch as written and the other half I added a few tsps of brown sugar. Both batches were nice and were equally good. My kiddies have devoured most of them already. A good no added sugar snack. Will make again.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
It's not very often I want to rate a recipe more than 5 stars. These bars really are amazingly good. Words cannot describe how lovely these are and why have I only now tried this recipe?! I did not add any nuts as I was making for kids. I think I will add more apple to the next batch.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2012
Superb :) Only next time I will flatten the chicken breasts so that they cook faster. Tonight the chicken breasts took a good 45 mins to cook through.

Rosemary Chicken Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
Really, really nice. Passed on the sundried tomatoes and olives only because I don't like them and added a few extra veggies. Great summer-y dish.

Yum, yum. Made as directed ( (well almost as I only had 1tsp of baking powder left but it still turned out great) and it was lovely. Would make again for sure. Thumbs up from everyone.

Pretty good. An quick, excellent stick to your ribs, throw what ever you have left in the fridge kind of meal. I used onions, peppers, courgettes and a cubed leftover baked potato. I also added some spices.

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
Really nice. I used a milk/vinegar sub for the buttermilk and used raisins in place of walnuts. Only used 3 small ripe bananas it still came out very tasty. Didn't use any icing as the cake is more than sweet enough on it's own.

Oatmeal Pancakes II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Very nice. I used whole wheat flour and used melted butter in place of the veg oil. Added blueberries which was very tasty. Only complaint was that the recipe didn't make nearly enough to feed us all. Yes they are hearty but my family LOVES pancakes so next time will double it.

Mama's Best Broiled Tomato Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
We all loved these - the kiddies included if you'd believe it. Excellent way to use up the leftover tomatoes from the garden. We ate them on their own for lunch but they would compliment any kind of soup. Will be making these over and over.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
Wow, this is good marinade. I did sub Montreal Steak seasoning for the blackpepper and salt. I hate to admit it but I think this marinade will replace my "old faithful" steak marinade.
