Garlic Chicken Stir Fry

Great recipe! Followed the recipe except for a few changes because I didn't have a couple of ingredients. It was still delicious!! Yummy! Used olive oil instead of peanut oil, left out the green onions, left out cabbage, used 4 cloves of garlic instead of 6, added some broccoli crowns, and used 1 tablespoon cornstarch instead of 2. The recipe would also be delicious if shrimp was substituted instead of chicken. A keeper!

Excellent Recipe! Restaurant quality. ...just a few changes: 1/2 cup olive oil (instead of butter) 1 large onion (instead of 2) 3 cloves of garlic (instead of 2) omitted water used 2 lbs of a frozen seafood medley mix (calamari, cod, shrimp,scallops) 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes added red pepper flakes and salt to taste I followed the same directions and used the rest of the ingredients on the recipe with the changes above.

Orange Chicken Stir Fry

Tasty recipe. I doubled the sauce (but kept the salt at the regular amount). I also substituted the chow mein noodles and used brown rice instead. I didn't have orange zest so I skipped it. I added fresh zucchini, red peppers, and green peppers. First, I sauted olive oil, 1 tsp. minced ginger, and the onions for about 3-5 minutes in a hot pan. Next I added the chicken and cooked for about 5 minutes. Afterwards, I added the sauce and some cornstarch instead of the flour. I added a little more brown sugar to taste. Serve with brown rice and presto: delicious dinner. : )

Greek Salad I

What a wonderful greek salad! A few things I've added or changed: instead of just romaine lettuce, I used an herb mix salad which consisted of a mixture of romaine lettuce, cilantro, dill, arugula lettuce, etc; I omitted the tomatoes; and I also added shredded carrots and two cucumbers instead of one. For the dressing, I didn't have a lemon so instead I used 2 limes. I also added in oregano, 3 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar and 3 tablespoons of sugar. You can add more sugar, lime juice, oregano, and/or rice vinegar to taste. Then add in some kalamata olives and sprinkle with some feta cheese! This is great, especially as a refreshing summer salad!

Like many people here, I added: 2 more teaspoons of soy sauce, 1/2 tsp. cumin, 1/2 tsp chili powder. Great recipe! Love it! Thank you for sharing the recipe!

Crispy Fried Fish

Very tasty. I substituted crushed crackers for the cornflakes and the Cajun seasoning with Old Bay. I also sprinkled some chili powder into the mix to add to the flavor. When coating the fish, I followed some member reviews to use a portion of the crumbs/seasoning a little at a time to coat the fish so as to not let the mixture get soggy. When serving, I added some tabasco sauce to it to give it a little kick. Enjoy!

Pad Thai

Everytime I go to Thai restaurants, this is my dish of choice. However, after trying this recipe, THIS is the best pad thai I've ever tasted! I quadrupled the recipe (but kept the fish sauce at triple the recipe). I also used lime juice instead of lemon and added a couple of cloves of minced garlic to the oil (as other reviewers have added). I also added cilantro,crushed cashews instead of peanuts, sesame oil instead of vegetable oil, and I added a whole sliced onion to the sesame oil with the garlic. Yummy recipe!

Taco Seasoning I

awesome recipe!!! i doubled the recipe because i had 3 lbs of ground beef. i cooked the meat first, drained the fat, and then mixed in the seasoning with some water...i think it was 2/3 or 1 2/3 cup water. mixed it all in there, added diced onions and some tabasco sauce to taste. it was excellent seasoning!!! tastes like the seasoning you buy in the little packages..but even BETTER!!

Fish Sinigang (Tilapia) - Filipino Sour Broth Dish

Great recipe and very simple and quick to make. However, I added some things: 1/2 tsp lime juice, 1/2 tsp red curry paste, a couple sprinkles of salt, and 5 tablespoons of fish sauce. Serve hot over steamed rice...great dish! Just like my grandmother used to make it!

Carrot Cake III

This is an AWESOME carrot cake recipe! It is not dense like the carrot cakes I'm used to eating (which is good). It is moist and fluffy, especially right out of the oven. I made this for my girlfriend and she absolutely loved it! Like others, I used 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar. I also added an extra tsp of cinnamon and vanilla. Lastly, I used 1/4 cup apple juice and 1 cup of canola oil instead of the 1.25 cup of veggie oil. Excellent recipe!

Asian Barbequed Steak

Awesome recipe. I added 3 tablespoons of brown sugar to balance out the saltiness. We also made skewers instead of just the beef. Our skewers consisted of the marinated beef; red, yellow, and orange bell peppers; and sweet onions. It was incredibly tasty!!!!!!
