Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2015
Followed this recipe exactly. Felt it would be better named "pot roast french dip" as all the recipe does is make a sandwich that tastes like pot roast.

Margarita Cake with Key Lime Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2012
absolutely PERFECT! I made cupcakes with the recipe and didn't change a thing. I did beat the eggs whites separately and then add to the batter. I made a lime butter cream frosting because they were for an outdoor party and I didn't want cream cheese in the sun. The lime buttercream was delicious with this cake. Unfortunately, I don't measure, but I did use 2 sticks of butter, 2 tsp vanilla, the juice of two limes and then added powdered sugar until I got the taste and consistency I wanted. I added a little green food color and used crystalized sugar around the edge to give it a 'salted margarita" look and added a small wedge of fresh lime. They were a huge hit!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
Very tasty - the first time I made it, I followed the directions exactly and found the pork was a little bit dry. I used a larger pork roast the next time and it was much better - I think the tenderloin is too lean for this recipe. I have also substituted Miller Lite for root beer and it was fantastic!

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Delicious! I do NOT like Swiss cheese, but with the rest of the ingredients in this recipe, it goes perfectly! I found I needed to add 3 more eggs for a total of 9 and I'm glad I did. I made my bacon in the oven and fried up my onion in a little olive oil on the stove...chopped up my bacon and simmered it together. Then I threw all the ingredients together the night before for time-saving purposes so I would just need to pop it in oven in the morning. I needed to bake it about 10 minutes longer, but that could have been because I added 3 extra eggs. GREAT FLAVOR!

Santa Fe Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
I am rating this recipe as 3-stars because I made it as the recipe read and it really needed more flavor. The second time I made it, I added taco seasoning to the cream cheese mixture as well as taco seasoning to the sour cream layer. Make sure you use AUTHENTIC tortilla chips for the crust. I used Tostidos the first time I made it and they were complete mush. The second time I used a thick, higher quality chip and the crust was much better. I would definatately suggest adding some spice to this recipe. It has a very pretty presentation...

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
THANK YOU for sharing this great idea! We had an Iron Chef contest at work & the appetizer had to have olives in it-I won 1st place a $50 gift card! I added dry ranch to the cream cheese for the tummies and because it was "diversity week" at work, printed out tiny flags froms different countries and glue-sticked onto the toothpicks. I added roasted red pepper scarves as well. Made an 'igloo' out of cream cheese and chopped up black and greene olives and added green olive juice 'to taste' until I had a dirty martini flavor.. Put saran in a round bowl and plopper in the mixture to make the igloo size. next morning popped it out and covered with a thin layer of whipped cream cheese and made 'igloo cubes" with a tooth pick...made the entrance by taking 1/4 of a block of cream cheese and folding it into an arch. SUCH A HIT! Serve the dirty 'martini dip" on butter crackers. Thanks again for a great recipe!

Creamy Chicken Vegetable Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
Delicious soup with great flavor. I would definately call it a "soup" rather than a "chowder" because it is a thin soup. I added some cornstarch to thicken it.

Maple Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
This was super easy to make and very tasty! I think the serving size is way off though. The first time I made this in an 8x8, the servings would have been way to small to feed 8 people. Also, I think the baking time is off...needs to bake longer so it isn't mushy and so the top coating gets crunchy/crisp. I added more apples and made in an 9x13 this past time...and it was great. I served it with french vanilla ice cream while it was still hot. YUM!
