My favorite things to cook
well... I really love our Mexican food... Now that I am living in the USA I can know that there is not real Mexican food around... I love cooking tostadas, pozole, tacos... and pasta. I love baking too! chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies are my husband's favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Invention and creativity! I love that we always find a way to make a meal great! cooking and eating is a very important part of the Mexican culture... the family gets all together.
My cooking triumphs
Baking... My dad has always been a baker... but I had never liked it... I don't really like sweet stuff... But since I got married... well... my husband loves baked goods... so ... I am so proud to say I've learned fast! I make my all the bread in my house... buns, wheat bread, etc.
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had any big tragedy... almost everything can be fixed.... What has sometimes happened is that I add more salt than I should to the food... but... potatoes can fix that.

Soul Smothered Chicken
This recipe is definitely a keeper! I am on a strict diet and was planning to only serve this to my family but once I tried it I couldn't stop myself! LOL! It's so delicious, and the cayenne pepper gives this little hint of spiciness that is not overwhelming but that definitely takes the dish to a higher level. I wouldn't change a thing! (except for using the salt and black pepper to your own liking) just delicious!

Rolled Buttercream Fondant
I used this recipe to make fondant for the first time ever, I got great comments on the taste, everyone ate all the fondant on their slice (which is great because fondant usually has a weird after taste) that's not the case with this recipe. The only problem is that I found it very hard to handle, it kept tearing apart and it was too greasy, next time I'll use less shortening for sure, hopefully that will make it easier to handle too.

Pumpkin Brownies
I just made these today and they are soooo good! Hubby is looking forward to his coffee tonight! They are moist, tasty, just the perfect combination! I only used 1/4 tsp. of ground cloves though... I thought 1/2 tsp. could be too much (for us) and the flavor was just spot on... Loved them and will definitely make them again! Thanks for such a great recipe! I am uploading my picture here too!
