Delicious, quick, simple, different. We enjoy this as a sweet side dish with pork, ham or hotdog casserole. Love it.

This is absolutely fabulous. I made it for Thanksgiving and everyone raved about it. It will definitely be served on many special occasions in our home.

Apricot Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2002
Definitely try this one--it is not a typical jello salad. I folded real whipped cream into it, rather than topping with Cool Whip. I took it to Christmas dinner at Grandma's, and not a spoonful was left. YUMMY.

Apricot Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2004
Thank you, Karena, for this wonderful recipe. It is so unusual, I wasn't sure my family would like it, but everyone practically cheers when I serve it! The color and taste are special. I always double the recipe, and instead of peeling tomatoes, I just add a 28 oz. can of diced tomatoes. This freezes well too.

Cucumber Sandwich

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
Making this sandwich is worth the extra little bit of food shopping, time and effort. It is different and very delicious. Try it with herbed cream cheese and a whole avocado!

Maple Glazed Ribs

Reviewed: May 7, 2004
I marinated these overnight in the sauce, then baked them in the oven because it was too rainy to barbecue. They were a real hit, even with a guest who was very picky.

Tangy Barbecued Chicken

Reviewed: May 7, 2004
Please try this one--it sounds kind of strange, but believe me, it is great. My son discovered it on this site, and tried it out on us. Delish.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2004
Please give this recipe a try--I served it to guests on the weekend and everyone raved. They don't even require the full 90 minutes from start to finish. I doubled the recipe and baked the rolls on a cookie sheet (with sides). Delish!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2004
I appreciated all the hints from previous reviewers. I added vanilla, and for fun, melted 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips and added it to the butter/egg mixture before adding the flour. Delish!

Coconut Cream Pie IV

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2005
Stop right here! This is the classic pie you are looking for. Just remember to take a tablespoon of the 1 cup coconut to set aside and sprinkle on the meringue. Thanks, Jane--my family LOVED this, and it will be a regular dessert in our home.

Happy Birthday Cake

Reviewed: May 11, 2005
Delicious! I use this all the time now for family birthdays, alternating with the Black Magic Cake, also on this site. Be sure to follow directions as far as adding the beaten egg whites separately. I sometimes substitute 1 cup of canned coconut milk for the milk, and use the frosting from Coconut Cake II from this site, also using coconut milk in place of regular milk. Thanks, Carol, for this recipe!

Ann's Sister's Meatloaf Recipe

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
I usually make meatloaf without using a recipe, but as I was serving it to company, thought I had better "go by the book". This is a great recipe. Does anyone even use MSG any more? I don't. I omitted any salt at all, and also used a few teaspoons of dried minced onion rather than the dry onion soup mix, which is full of sodium. I didn't use the bacon this time (was serving it to a guest who is on a salt-free diet). Thanks, Debbie--this is a keeper!

Classic Macaroni and Cheese

I have been looking for a mac and cheese recipe like this for a while--I usually make mine with a white sauce, and this one is MUCH better--my whole family loved it.

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2005
Great salad. I only use about 1/4 of the dressing on the salad, and save the rest for another time. Also, I only use 1/3 cup oil, rather than 2/3 cup. I used fresh lemon, just a shake of salt, and dried onion flakes.

Cool Raspberry Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
I served this to my husband as part of the menu for our candlelight Valentine's dinner. It is wonderful! I only used a small dab of the sour cream for garnish. Try this--you will be glad you did.

Easy Arugula Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
This is fabulous! I couldn't find arugula so used other greens. Instead of tossing all ingredients together, I arranged the greens, tomatoes, pine nuts, parmesan and dried cranberries (rather than avocado) on individual plates. I combined the oil and vinegar, salt and pepper and drizzled this over the top. My husband raved. Will definitely make this one again.

Creamy Potato With Rosemary Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
A keeper, for sure. Changes I made for our tastes: used minced garlic (from a jar) instead of the whole cloves; used no cayenne; used 1% milk instead of cream. The fresh rosemary really makes this great.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
We enjoyed this as the main course for our candlelight Valentine's Day dinner. Used fresh Atlantic salmon. The marinade is good, but what makes it is the lemon pepper/garlic rub. I didn't add the water to the marinade--why dilute it?
