About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Anything new! My father-in-law asked me if I ever repeat the same meal - - rarely unless it is something spectacular like cardamom orange French toast or Tortilla Espanola!
My cooking triumphs
Making Thanksgiving Dinner for the first time including the bird after being a vegetarian for 12 years!
My cooking tragedies
Leaving my manicotti in the oven (with it off) while my family went to Church. We came home to dried out manicotti which had looked delicious when we left.

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies
I have made many different spritz recipes and this was by far my least favorite. The texture and aftertaste were not great. I will definitely not be using this recipe again...maybe it is the confectioners' sugar...?

Baked Ziti II
Delicious and super easy! I even forgot the egg and it still came out great. Next time I will double the recipe and put half in the freezer for a quick meal that I can pop in the oven!

Never Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies
These really were "never fail"! I have had some trouble finding a reliable chocolate chip cookie recipe and this is it! Some reviewers indicated 1 tsp. of salt was too much, but remember you are supposed to use unsalted butter when baking, so 1 tsp. is the right amount. I think one key to this recipe creating "never fail" cookies is baking at 350 degrees, that way the butter in the cookie does not melt too fast. This will be my "go to" recipe for chocolate chip cookies!
