Dark Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
This is one of the best chocolate cake recipes i have ever had. Will be my go to recipe. The bacon, although a fun idea was not for me. If i do it again i will put the bacon in the food processor to add the flavor without the texture. Found the bacon texture to be just chewy and unpleasant.

Angel Hair Pasta with Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
This is fantastic! I took suggestion to double the sauce, which is a must. I deboned a store bought rotisserie chicken in place of shrimp and used penne pasta in place of angel hair. Definately let the sauce rest a while to allow the ingredients to meld and the sauce to thicken.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
I made this twice. The first time i made it as written and the flavor was fantastic however the consistency was slightly thin for our liking until it cooled slightly, which caused it to thicken. The second time, i thickened with flour and it was too thick. In the future, i will just allow it to sit for a few minutes before serving

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2011
This soup is a terrific and hearty soup and a great way to use left over chicken or turkey. I used 2% milk but i think 1% or even skim would work. I decreased the butter slightly and added sliced carrots, celery, and a diced onion. YUM!

Great way to cook brocolli. I also use this recipe for cooking asparagus or brussells sprouts.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
I make shepherds pie often and this is officially my new recipe. I altered the recipe some by taking advise from SCIOTA and adding 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce and using brown gravy mix and water in place of the beef broth. I replaced the carrots with corn and added more onion and cheese to the potatoes(cause whats better than potatoes with cheese)! YUM

Balsamic Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
A new favorite! I pounded the chicken and marinated overnight. Sauteed the tomatoes with a large onion and a couple cloves of garlic. Other than that i made as directed and it was fantastic.

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
Nice twist on a typical corn chowder. I added 1/2 lb. crisp, crumbled bacon and a can of cream corn. My husband doesn't like corn chowder and was sceptical about this but it was a hit....What better way to a man's heart then with cheese and gravy!

Tubby's Pesto Panini

In a word...FANTASTIC! I pounded the chicken thin and seasoned it with salt and pepper, used a flat bread and my indoor grill. Many flavors but nothing overpowers anything else. This will be a regular in my house.

Lobster Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
Great recipe. Super easy and fantastic flavor. I followed the recipe and the only thing i will do differently next time will be to add more lobster. I felt like there was too much broth for the amount of lobster.

Pita Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
Pita pocket pizzas are my familys new favorite after making this recipe. We have been topping with lots of different ingredients. The toppings in this recipe are fantastic. I love the spice combination. I never would have thought of coriander on pizza. As suggested by Jana Sue, i used homemade pizza sauce and prebaked the pitas for a bit (about 3 minutes) prior to adding toppings. Fantastic. Thank you for the recipe.

Mediterranean Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
Im giving this recipe 5 stars but i did make some changes. I made this pizza on tortillas (baked at 400 for 9 min). Used 1 jar of the non marinated artichoke hearts and drizzed the pizzas with a little balsamic vinegar prior to baking. Delicious!

Tortilla Pizzas

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
Love the idea of torillas for a pizza. I don't like warm mayo so instead of mayo i used a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was kind of like a bruschetta. Delicious. WIll definately make again

White Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
I used pita pockets to make this pizza (prebake pockets 3 min. at 425, top with ingredients then bake 10 min) We enjoyed the pizza however next time i will make a homemade alfredo. I bought the highest quality jar sauce i could find but still didnt care for its flavor. Homemade is so much better.

Warm Apple Buttermilk Custard Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
This pie received rave reviews by all. The only thing i did differently from the recipe was to cut back on the butter to 1 T and to use 3 apples. I used a deep dish pie plate and it was just slightly too much custard. The custard firmed up beautifully and the flavor was wonderful.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
I'm giving this recipe five stars but i had some difficulty with cooking time when following suggestions from others to double the recipe and cook in a 9x13 pan. I baked for 45 minutes and the bars were raw in the middle. The flavor is fantastic and the edges were great but next time i will follow the recipe as written.
