German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2003
Ok, ok, ok so maybe there are a few more steps and it takes a little time. This recipe is fantastic. The cake was most and frosting was perfect. It weighs a ton. I doubled the frosting recipe and toasted both the coconut and the pecans before adding them. I served it at a birthday party for Twenty-somethings and it was a big hit!

Onion Chicken in Balsamic Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2003
I used the chicken quarters instead of breast. Next time I will us the chicken breast. Definetly needs to cook on medium. I cooked it too high and burned the onions. I will try this again though, but with chicken breast.

Awesome Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2003
This is exactly what a carrot cake should be! I kept everything the same except instead of pecans I used 1 cup roasted walnut pieces. I added 1 t. extra teaspoon cinnamon to the cake batter and 1 t. to the frosting also. I didn't put nuts in the frosting. Sometime, maybe I will. I took this cake to work and had 3 request for the recipe. One man said his wife and him are always looking for good carrot cake, and this was the best he'd every had. Can't beat that!

Gramma Beaton's Brown Sugar Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2002
This recipe is a very good starting place. If you like sweet beans with no hotness or spice, this is for you. I will make this again, but will add some zip to it. Jalapeno, hot sauce or something like that. Very flavorful. Kids love the sweet taste, but need to get paste the texture of kidney beans!

Zucchini and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2001
I made this into stuffed zucchine boats. I used 10 med. zukes and cut them in half lengthwise and scooped out the insides. I used the inside pulp for the recipe as it is writen except I added I/4 lb. breakfast sausage that I add crumbled and fried. I used Panko bread crumbs (found in the Japanese food isle) and it tasted wonderful. I will definetely make again!
