The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie

When these were warm out of the oven, I gave them a 3 for flavor, 5 for taste. But the next day they were 5 all around. Great texture and suprisingly not cakey. Will make again.

Chocolate Eclair Cake

I'd give this 4.5. It was VERY good. I kept licking the bowl. I'd recommend sticking with the recipe for the chocolate sauce. Sure, a can of chocolate frosting would be easier, but it's rather less like an eclair, which is kinda the goal. I made 2 changes. I made my own whipped cream before mixing in the pudding and milk. I also split the cream mixture in half and mixed 2 T of cocoa into one part. I was glad I did that. More chocolatey and more visual interest. I will make this again!

Meringue Mushrooms

I made these for Easter and everyone raved about them. My intention was to substitute almond extract for the vanilla, but in my haste I grabbed the peppermint. Thankfully I only put in 1/2 teaspoon. It was a happy accident. It complimented the chocolate nicely. I did flub these a little, and they still turned out relatively well. I waited to add the tartar, salt, and extract until I the eggwhites where already making soft peaks. I think this affected the stiffness/ ability of the meringue to hold it's shape well. I also was a little concerned that when I took these out of the oven, the inside was still soft. However, after letting them sit and cool on the cookie sheet they hardened and turned out to be just right. Thanks for a great recipe, I will be making these again!

Slow Cooker Creole Black Beans and Sausage

I admit that I changed this quite a bit, but the result was very yummy. I turned it into a soup, almost like gumbo. I halved the recepe and added 5 medium potatoes, some chopped carrots, used 1 can of chicken broth instead of the bouillon, 2 c water, left out the green pepper and celery since I didn't have it. Served with parmesan on top. DELISH.

Shortbread Cookies II

Delicate, slightly crisp, not too sweet, nice buttery flavor. Like another reviewer, I formed logs and froze for 20 min. and then sliced.- This was far easier than rolling into balls or even drop cookies. I made "Milanos" by sandwiching two together with a fudgy glaze... I was very pleased with the result! I might try decreasing the butter by 1 or 2 Tbl. next time, they were just a tad greasy, but if it doesn't work I'll still be perfectly satisfied with the result. This is a KEEPER!

Banana Crumb Muffins

I found this recipe a few months ago, and I must say it is Excellent!!! I followed the recipe, other than making it into a bread instead of muffins. It turned out great every time. This is a keeper and is in my recipe box!

Blackberry Cobbler II

I was impressed. The great reviews were right on. I substituted blueberries for blackberries. As others suggessted, I added an extra 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon to both the batter and the berries, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the batter. I had no problems using a baking dish instead of a skillet. Delish!
