Ham Spread

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
This WAS delicious! ;) I just eyeballed everything, but added a little more ham to try to use it up. My ham was already sweet from the coke/brown sugar I cooked it with, so I used regular mayo. Used the mini chopper to get the right consistency for the ham, and I used only 5 green olives (didn't want to overpower it for the kids), as I had no dill pickles. It was very good. I will try again in the future, w/dill pickles. Thanks Pat!

German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
Diese Nudeln sind PERFEKT!!!!! I made them as stated, but instead of butter, I used bacon grease (I always keep some in the fridge!) and threw in a few thin slices of onion, then browned them all together for a tasty side dish. Thanks Marbalet!

One-Dish Chicken, Vegetable and Rice Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
Sure, it's not fancy, but it is a tasty casserole. I love that you can easily substitute different flavors of what you have in your freezer and pantry, and it makes it easy to get veggies in the dinner. Also, what quick prep time! I had time to make a colorful salad and wash everything I made dirty while it cooked, even though I took the extra step of cutting chicken into bite-sized cubes (for the little ones). * one note, I only used 2 good-sized chicken breasts, I wouldn't have had enough rice and veggies if I'd used 6 breasts!

Semmelknoedel (Bread Dumplings)

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
this is exactly what I was looking for! I have tried to make these from a verbal recipe from my Oma, and they'd always fall apart. I did use a 12 pack of rolls from Smith's bakery, and since it was so dense, I added an extra 1/2 cup milk. after mixing, I let it all set for about 30 minutes, to kind of dry off the top. I brought water to a gentle boil, and did 2 batches of 5 smallish dumplings. excellent with any gravy, especially mushroom :) Vielen Dank, Peachy!

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
Quick to prepare, moist and delicious! i was worried the potatoes might be kind of "steamed", but on the contrary, they were quite buttery in texture. I guess from the fat in the chops, and the bit of fat in the bullion. Either way, we'll make this again :)

Chocolate Zucchini Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
This was very moist and delicious! I didn't use walnuts, but did add choc. chips-hubby said with chips, it didn't need frosting! Next time I make this (tomorrow) I will omit cinnamon, as it wasn't bad, but wasn't necessary either. (for the flavor we are looking for) I also used 3 PACKED cups of zucchini. Try this cake!

Five stars for a quick, easy, delicious recipe! I DID use 1 1/2 lbs beef and a large can (29oz) of diced tomatoes (I wanted a little extra sauce), but those were the only changes. Thanks to Hank's mom!

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

This is delicious already, and I haven't even let it simmer for very long! I did add 3 carrots, 2 celery ribs, and 2 zucchini, all chopped, and a 15oz can of Italian stewed tomatoes (chopped) and 15oz sauce for a little veggie-ness. I will be making this again and again!

Crab Salad III

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
This is a great salad! It is a little different than other crab salads, but in a very good way! (I did leave out the olives and radishes, as I had none-and used one reg onion) My hubby even said this might be the best noodle salad ever, and he doesn't usually care for them!

Hearty Garlic Potato Soup

quick, easy, and delish! I used hot links instead of italian sausage, and used half soy milk/half 1% milk. No one could tell the difference :) I also look forward to trying this w/other meats, like clams.
