Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2014
I have made this many times and I prefer to add twice the amount of beets and a bit more sugar to offset he vinegar. I use feta cheese. WINNER!!!!

Black Bean Avocado Salsa

This is very good! I had to add 1 clove of garlic and I ran out of fresh lime juice so I used some lemon juice. Very good!!

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: May 20, 2013
I used skinless boneless thighs and a bit less sugar. Fried them on the stove in olive oil. Our grill is broke. It was awesome!!!! I will make this again!

Chicken and Mushroom Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2013
This is a wonderful comfort food! I made it as written except I had only canned chicken so instead of adding the water, I dumped the chicken and broth in. I used half the amount of oregano because oregano can really overpower the delicate chicken flavors. I added 1 celery stalk, chopped finely. I highly recommend!

Calypso Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2013
Well, I was so excited to try this but in the end it just has way too many flavors going on in here. The bananas are a mistake for sure. I was hoping to love it. I will not ever make this again!!

Smoky Chipotle Hummus

This is good...very good even without the tahini and next time I will not bother adding roasted peppers. It was better without!! I had no sundried tomatoes either

Fabulous Homemade Bread For the Food Processor

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2012
First of all this is very easy and not a lot of mess to make. It is delicious as well. You need a HUGE food processor. I thought my Ninja was big but turns out it's not! I had to dig out my Bosch bread mixer and it worked just fine. I will definately make this again!! I did use spelt flour instead of whole wheat. 30 minutes was long enough maybe a tad too long??

Very good as written! Looks too thin but I gave it a chance and they turned out yummy! Made more like 16 medium sized pancakes.

Happy Birthday Cake

So good! Not often that a layer cake gets eaten and has ppl nearly fighting for more. Non dessert eaters also eating 2 pieces says a LOT. I will make this again!!! I used the whipped cream frosting on this site.

Creamy Bacon Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
This recipe would be enough to serve 20 people or more!! I made 1/4 of this amount and it was plenty for 4 people. It is delicious. I used precooked bacon and just guessed on the amount and you want to make sure the bacon is finely chopped in a food processor. I used a few shakes of onion powder instead of fresh onion. I will make this again!!

Secret Burger Sauce

Reviewed: May 25, 2012
Wow, this sauce is the reason I make burgers! The only change I make is to use 1 clove fresh garlic instead of garlic powder. I also pat the chopped dill pickles dry with a paper towel so it doesn't get so runny!

Artichoke Asparagus Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 25, 2012
This is totally worth all the chopping!! I always use fresh spinach and Spicy Ranch Mix, and add twice the amount of red wine vinegar. My sister LOVED it and asked for the recipe. That means it is really really good!!! I also cut back on the parsley.

Smushed Apples and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
WONDERFUL! Perfect as written, but i like to add cream instead of milk. Everyone that tried it loved it. I did have leftovers so i made a latte with about 1 cup of leftovers and 2 qt milk and a few shakes of cinnamon and some more brown sugar.. its heavenly...like liquid pumpkin pie. I also froze leftovers to make more latte later.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

These are amazing IF you add less baking powder. You cannot add more than 1 1/2-2 tsp. for sure!!!! It is terrible if you add the full amount!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
I used more fruit and only 1/2 cup sugar in the fruit and some lemon peel and a touch of cinnamon. I used 1/2 cup butter in the crumbs and about 1/2 cup br sugar and 1 cup flour and a bit of cinnamon. It was delicious! You may need more sugar depending on your fruit, but we hate sweet things and if you serve it hot, it always tastes sweeter than when it's cold.
