Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2014
I followed the recipe exactly, and not only do these cookies taste great and are light and fluffy, but they made my house smell amazing! Make them on Christmas Eve day, and your kiddos will have sugar plums dancing in their heads all night long :)

Curried Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2014
This was good! I'd call it a westernized version of curry, but still very good. I used carrots instead of apples and added mushrooms, but otherwise followed the recipe. So good on a cold day, easy to make and hard to mess up.

Pumpkin Crumb Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2013
Waaayyy too sweet! Holy buckets. I might make this recipe again, but I'm going to leave out at least half of the sugar.

Slow Cooker French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
Excellent! I followed this recipe to the letter (with the exception of substituting the Gruyere and Emmental with provolone and Swiss) and the soup was to weep for. The smell drove us mad all day long: it was hard to wait 8 hrs! Thanks for the recipe!

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
Great meatballs! I added a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce for flavor, but other than that followed the recipe exactly. Really good sandwiches.

Baked Chicken Broccoli and Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
Easy and inexpensive to be sure, but not much flavor at all. I don't think I'll use it again.

Hash Brown Ham Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
Great! I added 1 cup of fresh spinach instead of green peppers and used oil in place of butter, but I kept everything else the same. It was delicious!

Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Really good! I halved the recipe but used 4 potatoes instead of 3 since some folks said the broth was a little thin, and it turned out pleasantly thick. I also added 2 carrots.

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Delicious! The filling was perfectly tart with the juice of 3 average sized lemons (about 1/2 cup) and the zest from one one of them. I thought the crust was a bit bland and over-buttery like some others did, but my husband liked it a lot, so there you have it.

Lemon Cranberry Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
Excellent! Soft, moist, and tangy. I added 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Instead of almonds, I used crumb topping (1/4 c. brown sugar + 2 T flour + 1 T butter cut in). Yum!

Best Ever Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
Pretty good! I substituted 1 C fresh carrots and celery for the water chestnuts and added some cheese. Thought the onion was a bit much, and I also recommend using a smaller pan than 9x13 for the given recipe that serves 4 to make the casserole a bit thicker.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
Really good for two grad students with a small budget and even less time. Two enthusiastic thumbs up! Though, I think I'll try it without the flour next time, too.

My new standard in pancake making! Add chocolate chips or blueberries or whatever to change it up. Delicious!
