Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
Great recipe!!! Tastes just like at the restaurants. I just made this for my husband's birthday and have never made a tiramisu before and it is wonderful. I followed some of the recommendations from other users. I didn't like the thought of using only coffee liqueur to moisten the lady fingers but did want to use some so I made a combination of strong coffee (4 tbsp instant coffee to 6 oz hot water) and about a 1/4 cup of the coffee liqueur and dipped the ladyfingers in the mixture. I placed them in a trifle bowl and it looks beautiful! I also followed the other suggestions about chilling the bowl for whipping the whipping cream and also chilled the marscapone and egg mixture while whipping the cream. It all came out beautifully! Will definitely make it again!

Melt In Your Mouth Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I love this recipe and make it a few times every fall. I always substitute the oil for applesauce, the white flour with whole wheat flour, and the sugar with splenda. I also use more baking soda to help it rise. It turns out almost exactly the same but has way fewer calories and it makes it very healthy. My three year old gobbles it up!! So do all my friends!

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
This is my all time favorite chili! I use red and yellow bell peppers instead of green and also use only two well chopped zuchini instead of three. I also double the red pepper flakes since I never seem to have corriander and round up all the tomato and salsa ingredients. Last time I accidentally used a whole can of tomato paste (one of the little ones) and it was a great "mistake". I have made this a few times now and always just love it. It never lasts long in my house!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I love this soup! I have never really liked baked potato soup before because its always so heavy and unhealthy feeling. This one is light and healthy. I changed the half and half to skim milk and used both chicken and beef broth (both light versions) and also followed some other recommendations and used 4 tablespoons of flour instead of 3 and it turned out great!
