Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
Excellent and easy. However, I baked at 340 and it was totally done and brown on top in 40 minutes, of course, oven temps vary. Suggest using baking times on cake mix. I added 1 tsp cinnamon and frosted with buttercream frosting. So good - will make again.

Baked Pineapple

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
Excellent. Raves from the family; will make again. I did decrease the sugar as other reviewers suggested, but my sister who makes Baked Pineapple thought this was better than her recipe.

Jaeger Schnitzel

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
Thanks so much for the post. We had such wonderful schnitzel in Germany a few years ago. This was very good. I did dredge the chops in seasoned flour after flattening to about 1/4", then dipped in egg and then in panko crumbs. I used a combination of a llittle oil and butter to brownj and the results were delicious. Since I didn't have the gravy mix, substituted au jus mix, added alittle cornstarch and a drained can of mushrooms. Using the gravy mix would have been better as even adding a little cornstarch to the au jus did not thicken as much as I would have liked. Will definitely make again! Thanks.

My picky husband loved this. I did not add the carrots, but added browned sausage. As with other comments, I sauteed the onions, zucchini. Will definitely make again.

Easy Chocolate Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
Excellent. As another reviewer, I used a devil's food cake mix, a little less cocoa and 4 small bananas. Very moist with just a hint of banana. Do not think frosting is necessary - just a sprinkling of powdered sugar.

Swiss Vegetable Medley

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Very good. I used frozen veggies and steamed first, made the sauce and refrigerated until just before time to go to a potluck. As others, used shredded colby-Jack cheese. Before adding the sauce sprinkled steamed, drained veggies with Mrs. Dash seasoning for extra flavor. Did not have the onion rings and just sprinkled extra cheese on top. No doubt the onion rings would add even more flavor and texture. Will try that next time. Thanks for an easy, quick and different vegetable dish.

Lemon-Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
This is now my husband's favorite green been recipe. That's something from a Kentucky boy who grew up with green beans that are cooked all day with salt pork.

Nonalco Punch

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2014
This is such a great recipe. The almond extract really makes it outstanding. I did not use the sugar but used Sweet Leaf Sweetener drops, about 1 1/2 tsps.; adjust to your taste. I make an ice ring in my Bundt pan by putting in a bit of water, then adding thinly sliced orange slices and maraschino cherries. Once the mixture is frozen add a bit more water to cover the fruit. This time I even poured the cherry juice in to the ice ring; easy and pretty as well. One fellow asked if I would make the punch every time for our church group, but instead I shared the recipe. Thanks for such an easy, foolproof recipe.

Mushroom Cube Steaks

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
My husband loved this. I did add a little wine and water to deglaze the pan after mushrooms cooked. The meat needed to simmer 10-12 minutes to be cooked through. Wonderful flavor, quick cooking - will definitely make again.

Enchilada Casserole II

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
Made with canned enchilada sauce, added a little cumin and diced onion w/chopped garlic. Also used ground turkey instead of beef and added extra cheese. Family loved it, but think I might try corn tortillas next time. Very good and easy.

Orange Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
This was excellent and very easy. I quickly browned the tenderloin before putting it in the oven for about 25 min; just prefer the browned presentation. The meat was so tender. I tried reducing the drained sauce and added some cornstarch as well as brown sugar as previous reviewer suggested. The taste was quite good, but never thickened - maybe not enough cornstarch. This one is a keeper!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
Excellent!!! My husband won't eat brussel sprouts but had three helpings. These are also good cold. I was roasting some meat at 350 so put the sprouts in earlier and roasted until browned. They turned out just fine.

Won Ton Wrapper Appetizers

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Loved the idea of baking instead of frying the won ton. I used Italian sausage, browned well and added a mixture of shredded mozzarella and cheddar (left out the Ranch dressing). Rather than putting in muffin tins, just filled then wonton and folded into triangles. Be sure to moisten edges with a little water to seal, then bake. We were pleasantly surprised how very good they were. Freeze the extras, just heat in moderate oven for a quick snack.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
Excellent and as other reviewers have mentioned, it is so nice to find a recipe without the creamed soup, which I've used for many years. I layered the potatoes and chopped onion and sprinkled each layer with a little salt and pepper. This is now my new go-to recipes for scalloped potatoes. My dear friend cannot have dairy but loves potatoes and I shared this recipe with her. Thanks so much for a great, delicious make-ahead recipe.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 15, 2012
This is amazing. I always think the vinegar (no matter what kind) is a bit too much so I decreased slightly and added a bit more sesame oil. We had a bit of leftover chicken from the night before and that worked well. We love the oriental flavors and as other reviewers have stated, many other veggies could be added, but we think it is wonderful the say it is, especially with the green onion and cilantro. I halved the recipe and did use 1/4 c. oil and it was not too much dressing. Next time though I will substitute olive oil for health reasons. Thanks for a great recipe. It is a keeper!!!

Cabbage on the Grill

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2012
Oh so good and easy. Husband loved it and I liked the ease of preparation and no odor in the house. I did use small sections of cabbage and sprayed with olive oil rather than butter; put two pieces of cabbage in each piece of foil after seasoning and wrapping in bacon. I was really surprised how good it was. Will definitely make this again. Not only did we not have the odor inside the house but by cooking on the grill there was no need to constantly watch and turn as when sauteeing on the stove.
