Cheese Soup with Broccoli

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
Very good, husband had double serving. As with other reviewers, did not add celery or carrots. I did add a little extra flour and chicken broth, and more broccoli. Used the leftover broccoli from last nights dinner and a mixture of cheese. We felt it was as good as Panera's and easy. This will be a "go to" recipe for us. Thanks for the post.

Chili Mac

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Needed to use up some leftover spaghetti so followed recipe except left out the bell pepper and used chopped canned tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano, and poured over the spaghetti. Husband loved it and thought it was as good as served by one of our local chain restaurants. Will definitely add this to his "favorites" list. Thanks for the post!

Ham 'N' Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
Quick and easy. I added some crushed red pepper, a little garlic powder. Although it was good we felt it needed a little more spice up. Perhaps just a personal preference. Will make again. Thanks for a quick, easy recipe.

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
These were excellent. Agree with other reviewers, the lemon zest is a must. I used seasoned flour, then egg but substituted Panko crumbs for the bread crumbs. Letting the chops sit a bit after using the crumbs makes them adhere better as well. Baked only about 20 minutes at350 as I was baking acorn squash. Chops were just right, very moist and flavorful,

Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
Much to my surprise, my husband really liked these. I will definately make again and may also use as a side dish for the holidays - they are not onl only nutritious but add oft needed color for a meal. I was skeptical of the ranch dressing mix but it not only added an interesting taste difference, but added color. Thanks for an interesting different way of serving carrots.

Easy Grilled Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
Since the breast halves were thick in places I pounded them in the thickest parts to make more uniform thickness; marinated about 3 hours. Meat was tender and juicy and they cooked quickly on the grill. Be sure not to overcook! The soy and lemon made for an excellent taste and was not overpowering, but I did add a little olive oil. Will certainly make again. Plan to slice leftovers for a salad tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

Savory Grilled Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
I've made grilled potatoes and onions for years with a little olive oil, but these were really an improvement with they mayo and Parmesan. This is now my go-to grilled potato recipe. Thanks so much for sharing.

Grilled Romaine Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
The tomatoes were excellent as was the dressing, which I will use on other salads. Husband couldn't say enough about the tomatoes, but didn't care for the romaine. As other reviewers mentioned, the amount of olive oil for the tomatoes was too much, but once I removed them from the oven and the oil was cool, I rubbed some of the excess oil on the romaine before grilling. EXCELLENT!! Thanks for sharing a really unique recipe.

Jaeger Schnitzel

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
Thanks so much for the post. We had such wonderful schnitzel in Germany a few years ago. This was very good. I did dredge the chops in seasoned flour after flattening to about 1/4", then dipped in egg and then in panko crumbs. I used a combination of a llittle oil and butter to brownj and the results were delicious. Since I didn't have the gravy mix, substituted au jus mix, added alittle cornstarch and a drained can of mushrooms. Using the gravy mix would have been better as even adding a little cornstarch to the au jus did not thicken as much as I would have liked. Will definitely make again! Thanks.

Spinach Salad with Peaches and Pecans

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
This was very good, cut the recipe in half for my husband and myself; used an old poppy seed dressing recipe. Will add this to my "tried and true" recipes. Thanks for sharing.

Easy Ham and Noodles

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
Thanks for a simple, but very good main dish. Much to my surprise my husband liked it. I did add sauteed onion and garlic, kosher salt and pepper and 1 cup sour cream added to the soup with half can of milk (2%), as well as some steamed broccoli. It was a little runny so will cut back on milk next time. I followed other reviewers suggestion and just put some sliced Velveeta on the mixture, than topped with crushed Ritz and dotted with butter. Definitely not a recipe for a weight watcher or someone watching cholesterol. Of course, that's what makes it good! Will make again but do believe the extras (garlic, onion, etc) are necessary to avoid it being too bland.

Imitation Crab Salad

Hubby said this was the best I'd made. I did not add eggs or the bread, but did add a couple of shakes of cayenne pepper. Thanks for a good summer recipe.

Blueberry Raspberry Pie

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Husband loved it. As other reviewers stated it was quite runny even though I used a crumb crust topping trying to absorb the extra juice. I believe the juice is important for the flavor so may just add some extra cornstarch or tapioca next time.

Cabbage on the Grill

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
This was absolutely excellent. As some other reviewers mentioned, I used a little bacon grease, kosher salt and ground pepper. Emeril's right - pork fat rules!! I was pleasantly surprised that even though the cabbage was wrapped in foil it still had the grilled flavor. Used a smaller head of cabbage (5 wedges) for just my husband and myself and we ate the whole thing!!!! Thanks for a great recipe.

Baked Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
Following the advice of other reviewers, I let chicken sit in soy sauce a few minutes, doubled the seeds/flour and shook the chicken in a bag after removing from soy. Placed on a foil lined cookie sheet (no soy) since I was using thinner chicken tenders. Baked at 375 and turned after about 20 minutes - EXCELLENT!! We had the leftovers for lunch and they were still great. Thanks for sharing.
