About this Cook
I am 31 years old - wife, mother to 2 children, and a kindergarten teacher. Life is busy and full; so, I'm always looking for harty but quick recipes to feed my family. I love to cook for friends and host dinner parties.
My favorite things to cook
In the summer, I enjoy cooking pies with fresh fruits bought at local road-side stands. Peach pie is my husband's favorite; so, I make that a lot. I love all-in-one meals like stews and casseroles. Time is limited, and once these are assembled, the rest is easy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Maw-Maw Ruby is the BEST cook, and as she gets older I find it more and more important to learn her tips and techniques. She makes wonderful chicken and dumplings and the creamiest mac and cheese. I am trying to perfect these to pass on to my own family.
My cooking triumphs
My peach pie is hard to beat, with the top brushed with butter and sprinkled with cinnamin and sugar. A little sour cream and cream cheese make a delicious chicken pot pie, even when using canned or frozen veggies.
My cooking tragedies
I once made a casserole using mayonaise instead of sour cream. It was terrible!! Now I am always leary of recipes calling for mayo.

Buttery Herb Wine Sauce
THIS TURNED OUT TO BE A REALLY GOOD RECIPE. I didn't have any white wine in the house, so I had so improvise. I used homemade chicken stock, fresh sauted mushrooms, and deglazed the pan after cooking the chicken. The whole whole family loved dinner tonight. I even caught my hubby licking the spoon as he cleaned up the dishes from the stove! We will definately be making this one again!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker
Oh My Goodess! This roast was soooo yummy! I let it cook all day in the slow cooker while I was at work and it was still tender and delicious. I poured the juice through a strainer to get out all the particles, then added cornstarch and water to make a gravy. My family loved it! Thanks for a great easy recipe.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
Wow! This recipe was fantastic. We eat Tilapia a lot, and it is good to have a different way to eat it. My husband loved it, and even my kids enjoyed it. I took the advice from some of the other reviews and added the Old Bay. Thank you for this quick and delicious recipe.
