Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
Just made it! Increased the serving to 12, but only added 1 TB of vanilla, instead of the recommended 3! It hasn't been refrigerated it yet, but it is already AMAZING!!! So excited to share with family and friends at my husband's birthday party tonight. Thanks!

Spicy Sweet Stovetop Popcorn

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
I was really excited about this. I kept the original recipe, but increased the oil to 6 TBS so to double the agave syrup (as recommended by the original poster). 2 TBS chipotle seemed like a lot, so I just put in 1 1/2 TBS. I was a little scared during the cooking process, but it turned out fine. Guess what? My mouth might be on fire. Way, way, way too much chili powder. I might try this again because I just love the concept, but I'd cut the chili powder down to 1-2 tsp, if that. Yeowch! Also, I used vegetable oil.

Guinness® and Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
This is easily 5 stars and the people who rated 1 star almost scared me away from it! I used chocolate graham crackers for the "chocolate cookies" (What could that mean???) and I put a pan of water on the lower shelf. Water baths intimidate me. Also, I made this for my Guinness-loving husband and his anti-alcohol family. Everybody loved it.

Pumpkin Ravioli

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
This was great! If you lack pasta-making experience and the proper tools, this will take a long time to do. That's okay, though!!! You have to get that experience from somewhere! Pasta gets so much easier once you've done it five or more times. The first tries are messy and not always fruitful. I do recommend a pasta roller and ravioli press. Overall, this was a tasty recipe that the whole family enjoyed! It's really not difficult once you have experience with making ravioli and the tools to do it! My 3 year old helped me mix the filling and I made it with her and my 1 year old watching. Yay!

Red Chard and Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
Loved it! Next time I will cut the olives up a bit (it was not specified, so I used them whole). I used yellow chard because it was what my CSA delivered and I couldn't figure out if there was a difference or not.

Apple Cheese Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
My husband and his sister thought this tasted like a nice apple pie/dessert on a pizza crust (not a good combo) with burned-in-a-good-way cheese on top. I was really hoping I'd at least like this, but it just wasn't very good.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
These brownies were too sweet for us and we like our sweets! I think if I added some bittersweet chocolate chunks to the mix, the overall taste would be better. It felt like something was missing and if I make these again, that's what I wouldchange.

Easy Tomato-Basil Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
A little strong/much... We couldn't handle eating too much of the flavor, so we couldn't fill up on it. We did use the jalapenos, so maybe it would have been easier on our tummies without.

Oreo™ Cookie Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Awesome. Sooooo easy. Everyone LOVED it!!! I sifted the Oreo crumbs. I don't know if it made much of a difference in color, but I used the crumbs as a coating on top and I really liked it like that. It made it so the white chocolate wasn't as overpowering. It doesn't really matter, though. This is delicious if you follow it exactly or alter it. Seroiusly, it has been a HUGE HIT at every holiday party I've been to this year!

Tart Lemon Triangles

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
Every time I make this, I worry that I'm doing something wrong with the crust dough because it's so powdery before going in the oven. It always seems to be great when it comes out, though! I agree with others who double the lemon-filling amounts. I made little tartlettes tonight, as well as a large tart. I think the ratio was double the crust and triple the filling. I like them more tart than sweet, so I usually put in a little extra lemon. Turned out great!
