Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I have made this several times now, and it's amazing! I wasn't too sure about the sour cream at first, but it makes the bread very moist. You can't taste it at all. I like to add walnuts AND chocolate chips. My husband loves it.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I love this recipe. I make it with wide egg noodles, and 1 can of low sodium Cream of Chicken Soup, plus 1 can of low sodium Cream of Mushroom soup to give it a yummy, creamy flavor. Delicious!

3-Cheese Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
This recipe is pretty good. I wasn't all that impressed with it the first day, but it tasted much better the second day, after it had a chance to sit. I consider this to be more of a side dish, like macaroni n' cheese. My husband liked it. I will make it again.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
This was so good!! I followed the recipe exactly except I used a 16 oz package of pasta. It was too much, and I had to use more tomatoes and cream to make up for the extra pasta. But it left me with too little sausage. Next time I will definitely only use a 12 oz package of pasta. It was still soooooo good though. My husband absolutely loved it. He never really raves about anything I cook, but he raved about this. He's pretty picky. I will definitely be making this many more times. Thanks for the delicious recipe!!

Veggie Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
I didn't really like this. It didn't have the consistency that I was expecting. I expected it to be a little firmer because of the biscuit mix and the eggs. It was pretty mushy. My husband thought it was good, but I probably won't make it again.

Angela's Easy Breaded Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
I made this last night and it was pretty good. I made my own Italian dressing and marinated the chicken in it for a couple hours. Then I covered the chicken with bread crumbs and baked. Not my favorite chicken recipe, but I will probably try it again.

Four Cheese Margherita Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
This pizza is awesome! I used a Boboli crust, and also I bought feta cheese that was already flavored with tomato & basil, for added flavor. The cheese combo was really good. I used regular salt (but just a little) instead of sea salt. This cooked up really nicely, but it was really oily. I had to sop up all the oil with paper towels. Next time I think I won't put the tomato marinade on the crust. The tomatos are oily enough, even after you squeeze the oil out. The flavor of the pizza was so good....definitely a keeper! My husband and I can't wait to eat the leftovers tomorrow.

Chicken Potato Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
This was really good. I used a bottled Italian Dressing, but next time I think I'll make my own dressing, it would probably taste even better. I marinated my chicken for a few hours before I cooked it, and I just drizzled some extra dressing over the potatoes, and topped with a little more parmesan cheese than was called out in the recipe. The chicken took about 45 minutes to cook, but the potatoes took about 15 minutes extra. I just took the chicken out and put it in the microwave on "hold warm" while the potatoes finished cooking. The chicken came out really tender, and the potatoes were perfect. My husband liked it also. Great recipe, I will be making it again.

Ziti with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
I made this tonight and it was great! My husband loved it too!! I used hot turkey Italian sausage, penne rigate pasta, and 1 and a half jars of Prego Tomato, Onion, and Garlic Sauce. After I cooked the sausage I mixed in the sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes. Then I mixed half the sauce with half of the cooked pasta and put it in a 9 x 13 baking dish. I put mozzarella cheese on top and then put the other layer of pasta and sauce on top of that. Then I topped it off with the rest of the mozzarella and parmesan cheese. I baked it at 350 for 25 minutes. I think 45 minutes would have been too long since everything was already cooked. It turned out perfect. I will definitely make it again.

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
After reading the reviews for this recipe, I had really high expectations for the flavor. It didn't taste as great as I thought it would. It was still really good though, just not as good as I'd expected. I halved the recipe, and I also added 1/2 a packet of onion soup mix like some of the other reviewers did. It gave it a good flavor, but next time I think I'll skip it. I also used shredded cheddar cheese. I will try cubed cheese next time. Mine was done in about 52 minutes. I did not put the ketchup on before I started cooking it because some reviewers said it burned and almost caught their kitchen on fire. I took the meatloaf out of the oven after about 40 minutes of cooking, put the ketchup on, and cooked for about another 10 minutes. I also cooked this in an 8 x 8 square glass baking dish so that it would cook more evenly. The recipe was pretty good overall, my husband liked it. I would make it again with the few minor changes I mentioned. **EDIT** Ok, I have to change what I said before, because I have perfected this recipe. I've made this 3 or 4 times now. I bought a glass loaf pan and it seems to work pretty good. I only use 1 lb of ground turkey since it's only my husband and I. I use cubed cheese - that makes all the difference. Shredded cheese in this recipe is just not right. This is now my favorite thing to make and eat. My husband LOVES it! I make it with homemade mashed potatoes. It's awesome. And it's even more awesome the second day!

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
I made these last night along with cheesy turkey meatloaf (from this site), and they were really good. I usually make mashed potatoes from a box, but I will no longer be doing that. I was surprised at how easy these were to make. I never knew real mashed potatoes were so easy to make. My husband really liked them. I didn't make gravy, although that would probably make them even better. I think next time I'll put more butter in them. This is definitely the way I will be making mashed potatoes from now on. Thanks for the simple and quick recipe!
