About this Cook
Married, 2 gradeschool kids. Nurse. My mom started me in 4-H when I was young. She would sign me up for every cooking competition I could be in. One year, she had me make meatballs that called for grape jelly. I couldn't stand them. Well, the judges loved them and I had to make them for the State Fair. I was so sure that they would hate it but I got a blue at State. Now as an adult I would like to try it again but cannot find the recepie.
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking it all. I love trying new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am expected at certain parties to bring certain recipies. For the Spring Blossom Celebration, I am to bring my fresh Spring Rolls. They are time consuming but oh, are they fresh and tasty.
My cooking triumphs
I cannot think of ONE specific triumph but I LOVE it when I try something new and my family says "That was the best meal I've ever had."
My cooking tragedies
When I made choc. chip cookies and for some reason used tablespoons of salt instead of teaspoons.

Quinoa and Black Beans
This is a TOTAL score!! I was AMAZED! My kids gobbled it up. I made some substitions - black quinoa, chicken broth and edaname instead of the black beans. I put in a can of drained tomotoes (with green chili's). I have this wonderful grapeseed oil that is chipolte flavored so I used that instead of the vege oil and omitted the cayenne. I didn't have cilantro.. Anyway, my daughter asked if it will be good cold so she can take it in her lunch tomorrow!! Weight Watchers points - 7 points for a cup (and it is filling!).

Chicken Katsu
I baked them instead of frying. I used spray oil on the bottom of pan and on top of the chicken. Very good. Thanks

Basic Crepes
I bought crepe mix because I thought it would be too complicated to make. I was shocked at how easy it is. Wonderfully easy! Thank you.
