About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook many things but I have to say I especially like the sweet stuff - cookies, candy, cake, all the bad things - sigh!
My cooking tragedies
I just made split pea soup - I soaked the peas for 8 hours and then cooked it for 7 hours and still, some of the peas were chewy(?!) How long do you have to cook until the peas dissolve?

Ham and Noodle Casserole
This was surprisingly delicious! I used a mix of gruyere/swiss cheese, low salt canned mushroom soup, creme fraiche instead of sour cream and also added in a can of drained cut up pineapple yum! I also drizzled a tiny bit of melted butter over the breadcrumbs to make them crispy. Definitely will make it again - thanks

Chocolate Oil Cake
My little niece is allegic to dairy so i tried this cake. It was very good and a big hit at her birthday! Nice and moist and tasty though I did make a few chgs based on reading the other reviews - I added in an egg, used 1 C of cocoa powder and replace 1 of the cups of water with a cup of strong coffee. Also I used canola oil since that was the only oil I had - so it was even healthier! I made cupcakes, baked for 20 min at 350.
