I've been married for a little over a year now,and am trying to maintain variety in the meals that I serve my husband. I'm very blessed to have a husband that cooks as much, and better than I do. he always gives me pointers when I'm cooking something I don't know how to cook!
My favorite things to cook
bread, I make very good breads, and its one of the only things that I can cook without a recipe.
I also like doing slow-cooker stews and roasts. I can do all the work in the morning before I get too tired to do it, and have a filling and flavorful meal when the day is over.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Yorkshire pudding at christmas from the roast drippings. I have yet to do it myself, but it's mighty tasty.
My cooking triumphs
Recently a medieval and renaissance club that I and some friends started hosted our first "medieval feast". We featured a recipe called "doucettes", and they were a huge hit. it is a type of pork filled pie.
I made corn fritters for the first time for a chuch social. I only got 2 out of the 50 or so that I made, cause they got eaten up so fast! I've never gotten so many compliments on my cooking before in my life.
My cooking tragedies
Some friends and I spent considerable hours (like 8 full hours and then some) on a vegetable dish for our medieval feast. we made quite a lot. hardly any of it was eaten.
