I'm a pastor's wife in an international church so, despite my English background, I lover international cooking. After years of hosting church functions both for my husband and various churches that I worked in I have been forced to back off due to my MS. I still love to cook and eat and delight in coming up with new recipes for special events. I am known for my crazy cakes although I am now forbidden to do any more wedding cakes when the the kitchen became a disaster zone after making a cake for a wedding of 350. I pulled an all nighter making it and didn't get to the kitchen before my husband saw it.
My favorite things to cook
Cakes, Pies and Bread
My favorite family cooking traditions
Braided Swedish Cardimum Bread, &
My cooking triumphs
Home made cheese
Making a three tier wedding cake with two double tier side cakes, gum paste roses and orchids, stairs, and a fountain to feed 350 people.
My cooking tragedies
Making a basket cake with kittens only to discover that the shortening used in the icing was rancid.
Sugar cookies double batch where I forgot to double the sugar.
The first time I cooked on my own and discovered that vegetable oil was not the same as vegetable shortening. (So that's why my drop no bake cookies wouldn't harden.)
