Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
This was a nice change and is better than the soup version. I did add a handful of bacon bits and slivered almond. A half teaspoon of onion powder and garlic powder. I used fried onions because I love them. But even without the additions the sauce was good, I just like to embellish. I thing this will be my regular recipe now.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
Love this, made it just as the recipe stated. I might consider throwing the bacon in last next time to keep it crispy.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
This is one of the best salmon recipes I've had. I do wish I made extra sauce. It was definitely enough to coat for cooking, but some extra on the side would have been yummy.

Bermuda Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
This is a keeper. I did reduce the sugar to a 1/4 cup because I don't prefer a sweet dressing and even at that it was sweet enough for me. I used red onion, and I threw some blue cheese in the salad, Very yummy. Might serve this for bunko.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
Someone said these cookies don't spread, but I beg to differ. This is a large recipe, enough to bring to a party. Got lots of compliments and people taking cookies home for later. Thanks for a great recipe.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
Used one jalepeno and still too spicy fo rthe 5 yr old. But for me it was perfect. My husband probably would have been happy with the 2 jalepenos. Flavor was great.

Sarah's Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
This definitely tasted good, but beware, you are not gonna get a picture perfect piece of lasagne to serve company. It was more like Yummy slop. It was very saucy, and I didnt even pre-boil the noodles. I just cooked the noodle in the casserole. You could probably omit the milk, it would help.

Spicy Black Bean Cakes

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
We are a family of carnivors that are trying to cut down on the meat. This was not bad, but no mistakin' this is a patty of beans. Not sure what I was expecting. We may try it again, but I will try to fry them next time, I think it might give them more depth.

Chicken Tequila Fettuccini

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
We loved this. I took the advice of another reviewer, used 1 cup of tequila with the 3 cups chicken stock and reduced down to approx 1.5 cups total. I used 3-4 whole limes for the juice. I just wish the recipe made more sauce, because it was so yummy.

Microwave Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
I'm tellin you this is the way to go. I know it sounds like sacrilege, but it's better than grilling. P.S. if the corn is still hard, it needs more time.

This was fantastic! I threw some real bacon bits in for fun. The mustard powder gives it a kick. This is a keeper.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
This was my first time making bread and I don't come from a baking family. My dough didnt rise and multiply as much as the recipe and others said...so I was worried. But it turned out great anyway. It is sweet if you use all of the sugar, but still tastes fabulous. I will cut the sugar if I try to acheive a different taste.

Greek Lemon Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
Wandered on this by accident and was so excited. Yummy, it was just like the one I love in the restaurants. Used 4 egg yolks to cut fat a bit but I'm sure it is great with all of them.

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
This was a great recipe. The mustard was fantastic, we used it on sandwiches afterwards and it was great with the pork. It was almost a shame because the juices the pork cooked in also made a great sauce. Did't know which to use, didnt want to waste either. I marinated & made it all in a basting bag, very tender & easy clean up.

Death By Chocolate II

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
Yummy! I made this with oreo cookies because I didn't feel like hunting down the toffee bars and skipped the almonds because I topped it with the crushed cookies. This is so yummy! I almost tried butterfinger bars but chickened out. Don't know why, I think it would be hard to make this taste bad.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
This is how my mom and I make it. I love it. We have never attempted to put the peppers in it to cook, but that sound like a plan. Don't be afraid to use more water. I add enough water to cover the meat. Once the beef is shredded it absorbs alot of it and makes it juicy. I live in the chicago area and this recipe can compete with the best of them. Sure it's shredded but the flavor is as good. I cook a bunch and freeze small portions to be eaten later.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
This is so great. You have to watch the fluid a bit. Make sure the water is squeezed well out of the spinache or cut the chicken broth a bit. But even with the excess juice, it still tasted great. I have fed it to company before and all were happy.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
Followed the recipe exactly, thought it was fantastic and easy. I made a more complicated recipe similar to this one (had to roast the peppers on an open flame and hand peel them etc). This one tasted just as good with half the effort. This one is a keeper.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
I fed my bunko group with this. Everyone was very happy with this and it was so easy. I only rate this a 4 because the 30 minute cook time was way off for me. I put them in 1 hour ahead because I was concerned. So glad I did because it took approx. 90 minutes before they cooked. If the rating was not so high I would not have beleived a recipe so easy would be so good.
