This is such a lovely and simple side dish. As others suggested, I sprinkled each layer with salt, pepper, paprika and minced fresh chives. YUMMMY!

Honey-Mustard Chicken with Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2015
This recipe certainly took the chicken breast to another level. These simple ingredients packed some powerful & delicious flavor for such a quick and easy recipe. I made this as directed but I did use a yellow onion because that is all I had. I also added just a touch of butter to the chicken pan to help brown the chicken better. Sparky declared this five stars and wants it on a regular rotation. I concur! Try this....you'll LOVE it! Thanks for sharing Bibi!

Willard Family German Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2015
This is very close to the original Baker's Chocolate German chocolate cake. You can't go wrong with this fabulous cake but I have to admit I like the original better.

Old Fashioned Cream Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2015
This was delicious but I did heed other reviews. I added 1 Tablespoon flour to deal with the setting up and I tented the pie with foil for the first 45 minutes so it didn't over brown. It was awesome. Kind of like custard pie but much richer and creamier. My hubby loved it too. Thanks for sharing!

Hard-Steamed Eggs

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2015
I can't believe that it took me all these years to find the perfect method for hard cooked eggs! These eggs came out perfect. Not one messed up egg in the bunch.I made deviled eggs for a Valentine's Day brunch and they turned out beautiful. This is the ONLY hard cooked/boiled/steamed recipe I will use in the future. Thanks for sharing bd weld!

Garlic Basil Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2015
This is a must to go with the Stromboli Grinder (Allrecipes) that references this ingredient/sauce. This is delicious with the yummy layers of meats, cheeses, marinaras and mascarpone. Definitely a must with this sandwich and I am going to try this on other sandwiches too. YUM!!!!

New England-Style Clam Chowder

This was terrific chowder. I did use bacon because that is all I had on hand but followed otherwise. Nice and different flavors. Thanks for sharing.

Real Pistachio Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2015
This recipe is absolutely heavenly for pistachio nut fans. I took them to a Super Bowl party and they absolutely raved about them and scarfed them all up :) I did not change a thing and I sifted my dry ingredients 3 times as noted by the submitter. I used Ricks Buttercream from this site to gild these fabulous and tender cupcakes. I will be making these again on St Paddy's Day as suggested. Thanks so much for sharing Candice!

Pork Stir Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2015
This stir fry came together quickly. We just did not care for the sauce so I would add a couple teaspoons of sugar to cut the salty sour flavor and a tablespoon of freshly grated ginger root and a tespoon of sambal to add some zest to the flavor.

Great Grandma Candy's Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2015
This recipe directs you to roll the dough thin and cut out rounds but I didn't think I could get a good "cut" with pecans in the dough. I finally decided to roll the dough into a 10 onch log and roll the log in pecans. I chilled it again (like a refrigerator cookie) and sliced into 1/4 rounds. The result was a soft spice cookie that was actually tasty.

Savory French Crepes

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2015
This is a a lovely savory crepe and the buckwheat crepes were a nice foundation for the simple filling. There are three issues to pay attention to. The prep/cook time is far from 15 minutes. Especially if you consider the 8 hours or more chill time for the batter. The other thing you need to be aware of is the batter separates while chilling so give it another whirl in the blender before you try to cook the crepes. The filling seemed underseasoned so I would add some fresh minced garlic to the pan when sauteeing the vegis. I think tarragon would be another nice addition to up the flavor. Thanks for sharing!

Healthy Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2015
This is a great recipe for using up available vegis and eating healthy at the same time. I used zucchini, spinach and mushrooms. I baked it in custard cups (for 30 minutes) so I could refrigerate these for a couple more breakfasts. Will def make this again. Thanks for sharing!

The Best Holiday Gingerbread Martini

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2015
This was very sweet but wasn't very reminiscent of gingerbread. I think I would be more inclined to serve it on the rocks or in coffee to cut the sweetness a bit. Thanks so much for sharing.

Saffron Couscous

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2015
This is a lovely side dish or salad with African flavors. I think you could easily toss it with cooked chicken or shrimp for a main dish. I could not find harissa so I amde a mixture of a 1/2 teaspoon chili paste and six finely minced mint leaves. This turned out great in spite of me. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for sharing!

Stromboli Grinder

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2015
MY OH MY!!!!! (as the late great Dave Niehaus would say) This is amazing! I followed this recipe but had to skip some of the hot peppers due to a lack of tolerance for "hot stuff". Two of the most notable components were the Mascarpone and the Garlic Basil Spread. They take this sandwich from very good to GREAT! Two other must have components.....a fork and knife. This thing is messy good and you'll want to get every bite. This puppy is headed for my super bowl menu. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Best Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2015
These were my favorite of the ones I have tried so far though I would omit the soy sauce marinade because they seemed too salty with the bacon. Loved the dipping sauce with it though. I will definitely make again minus the soy. Thanks for sharing!

Baked Chestnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2015
These were pretty good but we didn't like the sour taste (vinegar) in the waterchestnut marinade. I will def make these again omitting the vinegar. Watch them closely so they don't burn. Mine were done in 12 minutes. Thanks for sharing.
