About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to use the slow cooker, I love seeing it all come together hours later after not doing a bunch of work. And I love to bake. I like making things from scratch or taking box mixes & making them my own.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm not sure its really a tradition but growing up we always knew that dinner was ready when the smoke alarm went off. My mom wasn't a bad cook, she just wasn't a good one either. I haven't lived at home in awhile but when I go over its still the same.

Easy Cranberry Chicken
I only added 1/2 the amount of ranch called for and used french fried onions as mentioned by Cheri Nobriga. Next time I'll try it w/the onion soup mix & see if I like it better. I would give it 3 stars but DH gave it 4 1/2. Made it with stuffing and green beans, both went with the chicken really well.

Slow Cooker Bananas Foster
I absolutely love rum but this was way to much, and I even cut it down to 1/8 cp. I made it for a dinner & no one liked it but my brother so we gave him all of our portions. The up side is that my bananas never got mushy & it was easy. But easy isnt always good if your not going to eat it. Doubt if I'll make again. Prob. just make banana bread next time when I need to use up extra bananas.

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II
My husband & I both loved this. It was simple enough for even me to make. I added a full cup of water like suggested by others. And I didnt have any bouillon so I used 2 packets from chicken Raman noodles. I added lemon pepper and Montreal Chicken seasoning (by McCormic) to the rub. And added more lemon then called for & next time will add even more. My perfect cook time for was 2 1/2hrs on low. The chicken came out juicy & flavorful.
