About this Cook
My husband and I were married on December 30, 2006, and that's when I began cooking. I had always had an interest in it, but never really had an excuse to cook! Now that I have a personal taste tester (my husband) there's no reason not to! I haven't found a way to contact other members on here yet, so if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to email me at Courtney6831@yahoo.com or contact me at www.myspace.com/cmh210
My favorite things to cook
I just love trying new things! I don't go very far out on a limb on making my own creations. The reviews from other members has been such a great help and have allowed me to start making my own little tweaks here and there. I am becoming more comfortable with putting my own "spin on things."
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother passed away when I was three... I've heard stories of how she was the BEST cook. Unfortunately, when she passed away, the traditions went with her. My mother fixed things here and there and my dad cooked more often, but there wasn't much variety. Now that I am married and starting a family of my own, my goal is to revive the family cooking tradition! It's going to take a lot of work, but its definitely worth it!
My cooking triumphs
I made the SIMPLEST banana cream pie for Thanksgiving last year.(It was the first cooking contribution I had ever made for a family get together) I only took one and it was gone in 5 MINUTES! Everyone kept bragging about how great it was and they are still asking me to make more for other gatherings! It made me feel really good and gave me the reassurane I needed to keep learning!
My cooking tragedies
Oh man.. It all started when I found this recipe (NOT on this webiste) that had a 5 star rating... it had the strangest combination of ingredients, but I figured since it received such great reviews that it couldn't be all that bad!! Let me tell you, it was THAT BAD if not WORSE! When it came out of the oven my husband and I just looked at eachother.. the smell was so horrible!!! So.. I grabbed my purse and we headed for takeout! If you have a bad feeling about the ingredients... trust your instincts!!!!!!

Garlic Parmesan Chicken
Don't skimp on the French Fried onion brand.. If you get the off brand, it will ruin the recipe (I made that mistake)
