I've been looking for a recipe that matches a bulk sausage I buy. This recipe is close! It is delicious. To make it a little lower in fat, I used one pound of ground pork and one pound of ground turkey. It was indistinguishable from full-pork sausage. I'll make this often and will likely never buy processed sausage again.

This was very good. The apples and bacon really added to the flavor of this substantial cabbage dish. I would make this again.

This was a great idea for jazzing up plain old chicken salad! For my own taste, I added WAY less mayo and sour cream, and used a shredded pepper cheese instead. You really could change this around a hundred ways and it would be great. Thank you for the recipe.

I really like red cabbage. This was one of the best I have had. I am sure this recipe would have been great as is, however I changed it a little, taking suggestions from other reviewers. I changed the veg oil for bacon. I changed the white sugar for brown sugar and the white vinegar for apple cider vinegar. I also used 1/2 an onion and 2 small leeks. I think I Iiked this recipe because it didn't have too many spices like cloves or allspice that some people use in cabbage recipes. The sweet and sour of the apples, sugar and vinegar along with the cabbage was good on its own without any additions. Great recipe thanks.

Since I don't live in Texas, I am sure I have never tried the green sauce about which many have commented. Instead, this sauce reminded me of an avocado salsa that was offered at a chain Mexican restaurant that is no longer in our area-- much to our extreme sadness. Either way, it is delicious. I will make this often. Thank you for posting this recipe. It makes us miss our former fast food Mexican place a little less...

I used a mixture of ground beef and lamb. I was a little wary of so much allspice and cinnamon but it really works. This made really great koftas that went well with tzatzki and grilled pita bread. I will make this again.

Excellent job Fight the Fat Foodie! I made this recipe as written and it was great. Loved it. I made my own apple chutney from a recipe on another site. I used a hot curry powder. Lots of flavor from the spice so I didn't miss the fat. Thank you for posting.

I made my own pie crust instead of the puff pastry. I roasted the veggies and heated the stock and milk as described. Then I made a roux with the butter and flour and added curry and onions. Then drizzled in the milk and stock. Then added the sauce to the veggies. I enjoyed this very much and will make again for sure. Yumm!

I was out of white rice so I used a Lundberg wild rice blend instead. I used a fresh tomato with a little oregano and parsley instead of the canned Italian tomatoes. I used a can of mushrooms instead of fresh. Very flavorful and easy to prepare.

Delicious. I added a little shredded carrot as some other reviewers mentioned, just for color, otherwise made the recipe as is. These fried up crisp and lite in texture. I served it topped with a Romesco sauce, also from this site.

There are few things I like better than a good cheese ball. This one did not disappoint- plus it was a great change from the dried beef-green onion one I usually make. Using the advice of previous reviews I added more onions and celery. I doubled the cayenne pepper, added a little salt and added a dash of celery salt. I used 4 ounces of bleu cheese because I really like the flavor. Do not skip the pecans. I got a lot of compliments on this-- even from a person who doesn't like bleu cheese.

Very good and much healthier than many refried bean recipes. I used one can of low fat beef broth in place of 1 cup of the water and added the whole jalapeno pepper. I also added 1/2 a dried ancho pepper and 1/2 slice of bacon for flavor.

Very, very good bread! I did make some of the previously mentioned additions-- less sugar, more applesauce, 3 bananas and the addition of 1/2 t of salt. I also added golden raisins. It turned out fantastic. I'll add more cinnamon because that is our taste. Really great recipe, thank you!

I was really surprised by how good this turned out. It was different than other custard desserts I have had. It has a really delicate, subtle flavor. It is very sweet with a light texture. The cinnamon on top is just the right touch. I would definately make this again. It is a new favorite.

When I made this I thought I had made too much, but my wife and I polished it off soon enough. It keeps great in the freezer. It is easy to make and tastes great. I tried it mixing it with ginger ale and also with sprite. Either one works great.

This was great...I made this without changes and really enjoyed it. Low in fat and healthy but very flavorful. I love the combination of the tomato and chiles from the salsa and the peanut butter. Easy to prepare.

I used this sauce to re-create a dish that I love at a local Italian recipe. I did not roast the garlic, but added less. I also added only 1 Tablespoon of flour. Finally, I used fresh ground pepper instead of the peppercorns. I put the sauce over sauteed chicken, artichoke hearts, sauteed spinach and tomato. I put in about 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese at the end. I served it over gnocchi. It was delicious!

I heeded some of the warnings of the other reviewers on the spice level. I cut the chili powder and chipotles in half. Just right..Nice flavor..some heat but not too much.
