Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I made this recipe exactly like the recipe and cooked it for even longer than the recommended time and the centers were still too soft. One pan I made had a center that was almost completely uncooked. It tasted okay to me but not great and the group of people I made it for hardly touched it.

Challah I

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Just made this today and LOVE IT. I only made a few small changes. I halved the recipe since its just my husband and me. I used one whole package of yeast. In the bread I used 1 whole egg and 1 egg yolk. I used the remaining egg white for the egg wash. I added a little extra honey in the bread and in the egg wash. Other than that I followed the recipe and it came out super great. My husband and I have already eaten about half the loaf and I can't wait to eat the rest. Thanks for the recipe.

American Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
I just made this yesterday for a BBQ I had today for like 60 people. All I changed was using some green onion and relish. People loved it and quite a few people said it was one of the best they ever had.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
Just made this tonight with some cheeseburgers and potato salad. Everyone loved it. It does have a sweet taste to it but its good. I'm not fond of celery and peppers but ate them without any dislike. I made it without the pimento peppers and did add some cubed sharp cheddar cheese. Good!

Breakfast Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
Made it for breakfast and it was pretty good. Wasn't really favorful so next time I'll probably add some veggies and herbs but a great starter. My husband liked it a lot too.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
I just made this for dinner for my husband who isn't too fond of chicken because it is dry. I really like this chicken a lot. He said it was dried out and tasted great. I decided to bake it in the oven for 20 mins instead of the bbq and all went well. Thanks for the recipe!

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
I made this for my husband and at first I was a little worried because I haven't been able to make fish that he really liked but he took one bite and said it was great. I followed the recipe but cut it down to one serving for just him. Thanks for the recipe!

Pasta Pascal

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Just made this for dinner. I wanted a light pasta dish to go with the Salmon with Lemon and Dill I found on this site that I was making for my husband. We both enjoyed the pasta. Instead of fresh tomatos I used diced canned but otherwise I followed the recipe. Thanks!

Crispy Barbequed Tofu Slices

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
Just made this for dinner. I bought the tofu today so I didn't have time to freeze it so I listened to the other reviewer and tried baking it for 15 mins first and then fried them. They were pretty yummy alone but even better with the extra bbq dipping sauce. I eat it all and now and stuffed.

Creamy Frosting

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
This recipe didn't turn out to great for me. I made it to put on chocolate cupcakes and it didn't taste that good. The frosting never got fluffy like whipped cream. It was real runny and tasted too buttery and not much like frosting.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
I like this recipe but changed a lot and I think it turned out better and more favorful.I added 1/2 tsp. onion powder and 1/2 tsp. garlic powder to give it more favor and I think thats what made it so good. I also only used 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 cup whole wheat flour. Since I don't have a bread machine I dissolved the yeast in the water then added the other ingredients and kneed the dough for about 8 mins. Then let it raise for 45 mins. and then followed the directions by cut the dough and rolling it into 5 in rounds and letting it raise another 30 mins. Instead of baking them I found putting them in a frying pan at medium high heat and cooking them on both sides was easier. They turned out really yummy and I think better than normal pita bread.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
I've never had crab cakes since I'm a vegetarian but my mom loves them so I wanted to try this recipe. Both me and my meat loving husband loved them. I decided to listen to the reviewers and to make them healthier I baked them for about 25 mins. Other than that followed the instructions and ingredients the same. Very good!

Braided Egg Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
Just made this bread. I cut the recipe in half since its just me and my husband here to eat it. My bread turned out huge but really yummy. The house smells great too. Haha! I did have to add about another 1/2 cup of flour because it was still too sticky and did forget to save an egg to make an egg wash but it still turned out great. Thanks for the recipe!

Polish Style Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
I made this last night and it turned out great. It tasted just like perogies. I did change the recipe a little from the advice of others. I did add a layer of fried white cabbage and a layer of the potato mixture on top. I also but some chedder and mozzarella cheese in it too. I made some kielbasa on the side from my husband and we both enjoyed the lasagna.

Easy Valentine Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
Way to sticky to make any cutouts. Instead I just made them like drop cookie and my husband really liked them. I even added some chocolate chips in about half and they were just as good.
