Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly, except for switching onion salt and garlic salt for onion powder and garlic powder; however, I think it would have been just fine with the salt. I only baked for 4 hours before letting it rest for 45 minutes. I then cooked it for another hour in the sauce. Came out perfect! I think it would have been too dry if I would have baked 5 hours before the sauce. I doubled the sauce as others have suggested but we would have been ok without doubling it. My family loved this recipe!! The sauce was truly delicious! Can definitely taste the celery salt. By the way, this was my first brisket!

Chicken Thigh and Dumpling Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2013
Made according to directions except used chicken broth instead of vegetable broth, and less onion. Family loved it, but next time I would leave out the crumbled bacon as we didn't like the texture of it with the soup (and we love bacon!). The bacon drippings were a nice element though.

This recipe is perfect just the way it is, with no changes needed. It's so healthy, this mom of a newborn feels more alive and awake after drinking it!

Pizza Burgers I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
Love this recipe. All three of my children (and hubby of course) eat this all up, and that rarely happens! I do add a slice of pepperoni and sometimes genoa salami before I pop it in the oven to melt the cheese. Easy and very tasty! Thanks for the post.

Ham and Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
This was absolutely delicious! I basically made this recipe "as is" except I used canned instead of dry beans, and added some garlic. I did not think it was too sweet, as others have mentioned. I truly thought this recipe was spot on. My 18 month and five year old loved it, my nine year old picky eater only ate the ham, but my husband, who gagged at the thought of having this meal, was VERY impressed. We will work this into our regular rotation. Thanks for the post!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
I altered this a little by omitting the soup and just using about 5 cups of broth (water & bouillion). Next time I will have to increase the broth because my family of five at it all up! I took a couple of tips from others and started by cooking some diced onion & garlic in a little butter before adding the chicken & broth. I also added celery and carrots, a bay leaf, parsley, salt & pepper. It was VERY flavorful. And the refrigerated biscuits could not be easier! This was a big hit with my family. Even my pickiest eater was pleased. Thanks for the post.
