Rock Salt Encrusted Prime Rib

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
Excellent roast, but a pain to chip off all the rock salt.Plus some of the salt gets into the drippings, which I combine with beef broth for dipping, but is now too salty.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
This was good, but I prefer my rib roast very rare, so I oven roast it at 250 degrees and it turns out rare all the way through.Notice the photo the outer one inch layer is well done,so the dog would get that.

Popeye Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
Very disappointed, way too many ingredients. I'm going to just stick with salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley in the flour. We usually remove the skin before eating and that's where all the spices are.

Darn Good Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Excellent!I left out the taco sauce and red pepper.Added more onions and chili powder.Substituted pintos for kidney beans.Served the beans on the side,as since my wife had her gall bladder removed, she avoids beans, cause she now has gas of the gods. She doesn't need the extra power.

Chili con Carne I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
Very good, except I used beef broth instead of straight water, plus I like the use shredded beef (brisket) instead of ground. I had to cook the beans alone as my wife doesn't like pintos (but they are my favorite of all beans).

Cheese Soup with Broccoli

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2008
Great soup... My changes were 2 cups milk, not 4 2 10 oz packages of frozen chopped broccoli, not 1 cup.2 14.5 oz cans of chicken broth.Plus I dissolved the flour in the cold milk to avoid lumps. Next time I will add more carrots.
