Fig and Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2003
Maybe I was clueless, but I cut the lemon into slices, leaving the peel on, since the recipe did not say to peel the lemon first. I think the sauce would have been very good, but the peel gave the sauce and chicken a very bitter taste. Make sure that you peel the lemon first before putting it into the pan! I did not have enough figs, so I used prunes as well, which I think would have been really good. I may try the recipe again sometime, with that major change.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
A delicious and cheesy quiche. I took another reviewer's suggestion and added chopped artichoke hearts and omitted the mushrooms. It was delicious, and the salt from the feta worked perfectly -- no need for additional salt. I also used less than half the butter with no problem.

Potato Latkes I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
The best latkes I have ever made. They are oniony and salty, and the peanut oil gives them a great flavor.

Oranged Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2002
For this Thanksgiving, I've made 3 different cranberry sauce recipes. This one is definitely the best! The cinnamon gives it a nice flavor. I let it thicken up quite a lot, and I think the thicker the better. Mine turned out a little too sweet, so I think next time I'll add a little bit less sugar. Otherwise, an excellent recipe!

Cranberry Sauce I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2002
A little too tart and not thick enough. I followed the recipe and stopped cooking it when the berries started popping. I even let it go a little longer just to make sure. It turned out a little too soupy. I think it would be better if you let it cook a little longer to burn off some of the water and thicken it up.

Cranberry Oat Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2002
I increased the recipe by 1-1/2 to fit a 9x13 pan. These bars turned out really sweet. They were still good, but I would either reduce the amount of sugar cooked with the cranberries or the brown sugar in the crust. They were really good frozen!

Olive Chicken I

Very good flavor. This has become a standard in my repertoire of chicken dishes. Easy to make too.
