David's Secret Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
Great! These are fabulous, however I did make a few changes. I added chopped dark chocolate chunks and instead of using a food processor I used potato masher for the cereal! I wanted some chunky pieces in the cookies. I also added more than a cup of rice crispies, in fact I used most of it. They were fabulous! I also like my cookies a bit saltier, so I tend to increase the salt. Thanks!

I LOVE this recipe!!!! It was absolutely delicious and healthy! I reduced the oil and subbed dried basil for fresh because I didn't have any. Will definitely be making again! Thanks!

Garlicky Mushroom Toast Cups

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
So I used the basic idea but I changed it a bit. I added a chopped onion, extra garlic and a dash of oregano and savoury. I also added almond milk instead of cream with an extra egg white. I didn't use any butter but sprayed the pan. Because the bread was looking dry I gave them an egg wash with one egg white and some almond milk. They turned out great! I took them to a potluck and they were a big hit and smelled delicious!

Queijadas

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2011
These are so good! I used almond milk and reduced sugar by half a cup. The only problem I had was that It was very difficult to get them out of the muffin tin in one piece as they were very delicate and stuck to the bottom. I served them with vanilla frozen yogurt and a sauce of frozen fruit I heated on the stove sweetened with overripe frozen bananas from my freezer. Displayed well and went over great! Would be a 5 star except for the sticking. Thanks!

Neapolitan Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
Good cookies, a little hard to mix near the end, not sure if it's because of the changes I made. I used whole wheat flour instead of white, not as great of a contrast but still turned out well. Also used shortening instead of butter and cocoa instead of chocolate. Other than the dough being a bit stiff, love the recipe! Thanks!

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Great! I used crushed strawberry vanilla wafer cookies for the strawberry and graham crusts for the rest. I split it into several batches and added strawberry jam, raspberry, chocolate syrup, and blueberry. I drizzled melted chocolate chips on the chocolate. My favorite was the raspberry, we didn't care for the peanut butter. Great recipe, thanks!

Portobello Mushroom Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
Made this for my family and very traditional grandparents. My dad is a huge meat man and doesn't like vegetarian dishes nor does my grandpa. These burgers got rave reviews with several requests to have them again. Everyone was skeptical, but they looked and tasted fantastic! I toasted hamburger buns and spread a thin layer of light mayo. I put a leaf of lettuce down first, the burger and then some sauteed onions. Delicious! Never had provolone cheese before and it was great on them. Two thumbs up!

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
Okay I totally cheated. I used canned tomatoes in this "garden fresh" recipe. I liked the recipe and had canned tomatoes so I decided to try it. I put 2 cans of chopped tomatoes and 1/2 an onion. I didn't have whole cloves so I used ground cloves, unfortunately I put too much in. That was the only thing I would do differently, it turned out great! My family loved it! Thanks!

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Really good classic chocolate chip cookies. Definitely LOTS of chocolate chips. Check cookies after 8 minutes to see if browned. Made 60ish small cookies that didn't flatten too much. Overall good cookies.

Easiest Egg Nog

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
Soooo good. Not as thick as ones with cream obviously, but I'm lactose intolerant so this is amazing! I used soy milk and replaced the vanilla extract with rum extract. So good, even my sister liked it! It is very frothy but I still love it. I can hardly ever find soy nog and it's usually digusting. Now I never have to! Thanks!

Cabbage Patch Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
I didn't have ranch style beans, green pepper or celery, so I used white kidney beans and yellow pepper. The only thing is that it was quite spicy, I'm not sure if the picante I used was different but a 1/4 seems like a lot. I still liked it but my dad couldn't eat it.

Watermelon Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
Okay this was really good. Had extra watermelon from a BBQ, so I used up the slices. (I still have 2 whole melons left though!) I didn't have the peppers so I chopped green pepper, green onion and add cayenne pepper and a tsp of lemon juice. Delicious! I didn't even want to eat it with anything, it was so good by itself!

Cod Curry

Very good! My mom loved it and she hates fish. (but she loves cilantro) Not a very strong curry flavour, but I didn't have tumeric or jalapenos so I chopped a green pepper and added a couple dashes of hot sauce.

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
Great recipe! The dough was quite crumbly but they turned out great I just pinched them together. I wasn't sure if they were done at 8 minutes but I found even though they were very soft still in the middle they stiffened up and were very chewy. They only need to be lightly browned. If you like coconut you will like these cookies!!!
