My Favorite Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
Wow, these were perfect! I had to use self-rising flour because that's what I had, so they were kind of puffy, but we really liked them. Easy to mix, easy to roll out, easy to cut, easy to bake! My 3-year-old LOVED making and eating them!

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2004
This was very good for such an easy recipe. I agree about doubling the sauce or covering (I wish I had read the other reviews first!). I served them with couscous & steamed broccoli & poured the sauce over all.

Robust Garlic Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2003
Very good roast chicken recipe. I agree about cutting the butter in half. Also, iIn my not-so-good oven, and with a 5lb bird, it takes more like 80min to cook.

Green Bell Peppers stuffed with Tomato Lentil Couscous

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2003
This is the best of the stuffed bell peppers recipes, in my opinion. Couscous is a perfect filler--much tastier than white rice. I use turkey instead of beef.

Meringue Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2003
This is a very good recipe. One reviewer had trouble, but I think it was her technique, or possibly the weather! Meringues are sometimes difficult to do. Some tips: 1) never use a plastic bowl to mix in, 2) be sure there's no oil or butter (or shortening, etc) on your utensils or bowl, 3) as the recipe says, be sure the egg whites are VERY firm before you start adding sugar, and don't stop beating the sugar/eggwhites until you can make peaks that don't fall down, 4) if you just can't get good peaks, it may be too humid in your house--put your merigue on a pie & try the cookies another day. I like to make these cookies in the evening. You can preheat your oven to 275, put the cookies in, turn the oven OFF, and leave them until morning! They'll be perfectly cooked. :o)

Chewy Gooey Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2003
These are very good cookies. I didn't have any problem with burned bottoms or greasiness, as one reviewer noted. It IS tough to get the cookies off the baking sheets. Use plenty of Pam to grease the baking sheets, and be careful not to put the dough marshmallow-side-down. I used regular flour and chocolate chunks.

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2002
We really enjoyed this dish. You can definitely taste the curry, but it doesn't overwhelm the other flavors. I'm going to double the sauce the next time I make this.

Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2002
These were very good. I used really big mushrooms, though, and they were dry. If you use big shrooms, try putting a little butter or red wine in the pan when you bake them.

Romantic Chicken with Artichokes and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2001
Great recipe! I was afraid my fiance wouldn't like the artichoke hearts, but he loved it! Next time I will make twice as much sauce, and serve over noodles.
