Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2014
I took some of the other reviewers advice and reduced the cooking time. But even baking for 20 minutes the cake was still dry. Also I think that the recipe needs to be specific as to what kind of white sugar is needed.....granulated or powdered sugar. Most icings specifically say powdered/confectioners sugar but I used granulated sugar and it did not taste like frosting at all, more like the sweetness of cool whip. So I ended up adding powdered sugar to give it more of a frosting taste.

Wonderful Waffles

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2014
These are indeed wonderful waffles! They were very light and fluffy and taste great. I did add 1/4 cup of white sugar in addition to the brown sugar, as well as 1 tsp of vanilla extract. This recipe makes plenty of waffles. I was able to use some for a chicken and waffles dinner, some for breakfast, some I made and put in the freezer, and I still had some batter left. This will definitely be my go to recipe for waffles.

Buttermilk Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2014
This recipe is pretty good. My grandmother used to make these and they were wonderful so I thought I would give it a try. I followed the recipe exactly without making any changes. The only thing that I will change in the future is either eliminating the lemon juice or reducing it. I find the lemon taste very prominent in this pie which I wasn't expecting but it still tasted good. Also this pie is best eaten when it's completely cooled or the next day after baking.

WINNER! WINNER! WINNER! I have tried many chocolate chip cookies recipe and none of them compares to this one. I did take a suggestion from another person and added 1/2 tsp. of cream of tartar. These turned out great, this recipe is a definite keeper!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
I give it 4 stars only because it came out to "cakey" for me but the taste was very good. I will tinker with the recipe to see how I can make it not rise so much.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
I've made this twice already, once for a friend and once for a church bake sale. My friend is a chocolate lover and she absolutely LOVED this cake! In order for me to try it, I took a little batter out and made cupcake from it and it was sooo good! I will be making this again for a church dinner. This recipe is a keeper!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
I made this recipe for the first time for a dinner I had with my in-laws and I was so embarrassed. After following the recipe exactly, this did not turn out. I had high hopes because of the high rating, it was simple to make, it looked great, smelled great but we did not care for the flavor. You couldn't taste the meat at all. My suggestion would be to cut down on the breadcrumbs and milk or eliminate them altogether. My husband asked me not to make it again and stick to the way I've been making it. I learned my lesson, I won't make a new recipe for company without trying it first!

Lemon Lush

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
This was just an okay dessert to me, I expected so much more because a restaurant in my hometown has a lemon lush that is delicious and addictive! This tasted mostly artificial even after adding lemon extract to the pudding and some sugar for the crust. I probably will not try this again.

Glazed Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
This recipe was pretty good. My husband and I enjoyed but both agreed that the amount of soy sauce was a little too much. I will try the recipe again with less soy sauce and something spicy to give it a little kick.

Great recipe and easy to follow especially for my first time making mashed potatoes. I added romano, parmasan, and mozzarella cheeses and it was delicious! I will definitely make these again and again and I'll leave the boxed mashed potatoes at the store!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
This was my first time making cinnamon rolls and my husband and I thought these were pretty good! The only thing for me was that they were a little too sweet for my taste. And after putting on the brown sugar mixture and rollng them up, it was very messy. But it is definitely a recipe I would use again and just tweek it a little bit.

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
This is a great and easy to make from scratch recipe! I followed the recipe exactly and it came out moist and delicious. I also made the cream cheese frosting but I also added a half pack of strawberry kool-aid to give it color and a little strawberry flavor. Sounds weird but it was a great added touch! Thanks for the great recipe!
