Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
These were not the best rolls that I've ever tasted, but they were good and easy to make. I did not use the bread machine, but instead mixed in my stand mixer with dough hook and let the dough rise until doubled (about 2 hours) before rolling out.

Special Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
I typically make the more traditional deviled eggs (with relish and vinegar), but decided to try these. They were very good. The horseradish gave them a nice zip and the diced onion gave some texture. I personally prefer the traditional ones, but these were nice for a change and everyone enjoyed them.

Cranberry Upside-Down Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
I could not find cranberries (fresh, frozen, or canned) at the 2 stores I tried, so I decided to try the recipe with cherries instead. The cake was very, very good, but I will not make it with cherries again. The topping was a little mushy (I think because of the cherries), so next time I'll try harder to find the cranberries.

Hurricane Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
VERY GOOD!! I made this for guests and everyone LOVED it! I was surprised that the cream cheese mixture sank more than some of the other pictures showed and than I expected. I made it exactly as the recipe said and it was perfect. (3 3/4 cup is the 1lb box of powdered sugar)

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This was outstanding!! I have never cooked with wine (I usually just substitute chicken broth) and was a little unsure about the taste, but decided to trust the reviews the dish has gotten. I wasn't even sure where to find the cooking wine (I started by the regular wine, but it was actually by the vinegar). I secured the chicken with cooking string and it worked well. I made 7 breasts and the only thing I adjusted was the flour and paprika mixture, I doubled it and only had a little bit that didn't get used. I was making this for guests and I don't like to have a mess in the kitchen when guests arrive or be slaving over the food, so I decided to make this up and transfer to a casserole dish and keep in the oven. (I removed the string before putting it in the dish.) It ended up being in the oven for about 30 minutes at 300. It was perfect!! I served it with wild rice and roasted asparagus. Everyone cleaned their plates and raved about how good it was.

Grill Dough

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2011
Excellent!! We just bought a Kamado Kooker and wanted to try pizza on it. I followed the other suggestions and grilled for 2 minutes, brought inside and topped the grilled side, and then grilled for 5 minutes. It turned out fantastic!

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2011
Delicious!! This has become a family favorite and I have made it many times. It is very similar to the creamed corn at Rudy's BBQ in Texas.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
I was skeptical that this wouldn't be good (main ingredient ketchup?!), but listened to the other reviews and tried it anyways. I added a touch of bbq sauce and it was AWESOME!!! I will never buy Manwich again! (I also didn't add green pepper because I didn't have it and I cut down on the brown sugar.)

Dinner in a Packet

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
Very good and very easy! I used the thin cut pork chops and put 2 in each packet (the weight was still about 4 oz.). I didn't add the frozen peas, just potatoes and carrots.
