Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin With Apricot Ginger Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
This was delicious. The only thing that I would do differently (and I will make this again) would be to reduce the amount of barbecue sauce in order to let the apricot flavor come through a little bit stronger. I would also reduce the amount of glaze by half. I used it to glaze while grilling and also as a sauce for dipping and I still had to much. This was excellent and it would be great for company.

Fresh Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
I have made this recipe many times and everyone always loves it. I usually use more mayo than recipe calls for but otherwise keep everything the same. For Thanksgiving I substituted dried cranberries for the raisins (when I use raisins I always use golden), pecans for the sunflower seeds, and shallots for the red onion for a milder flavor and red wine vinegar for the white. I have also substituted dried cherries and almonds. Very versitile for your own taste. Delicious. Thanks for the great recipe!

Emily's Easy Sausage and Spicy Tomato Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Very good base recipe. I used spicy Italian sausage and added some cayenne and diced jalapeno to spice it up some. I also used a little milk to thin it out some to make it more dipable. I have also made this with spicy Italian turkey sausage and I liked it just as well and it was a little more health conscious. Everyone always loves it. Thanks so much.

Basmati Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
very good, simple recipe but more complex than serving plain rice. I sometimes cook rice in chicken stock to add more flavor. Very good. Thank you

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
I thought this was terrible. I couldn't even eat it and I will eat just about anything. I intended to follow other reviewers' advice and use sour cream for mayo but I was out. Big mistake. It might have been better with the sour cream but I am not willing to risk it. Thanks anyway.

Cindy's Country Style Creole Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
This was very good. I made as directed except I didn't use the bacon grease...I didn't have any on hand and I also don't wish to clog my arteries any sooner than necessary. It's pretty spicy and the flavor from the spices is enough to give it great taste even without the bacon grease. Thanks for the great recipe

Grilled Turkey Tenderloins

This was very good and not terrible for you, either. I made it exactly as directed and I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for the great recipe.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
This is the best meatloaf I have ever had. I used 2 pounds of beef, doubled the glaze, used more ketchup so it wasn't quite as sweet and I put the glaze on the top and the bottom because it was delicious. The ginger is unexpected and wonderful. I used bread crumbs instead of crackers because I didn't have any. Thank you so much for such a great recipe. I will definitely make this again

Seasoned Couscous

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
This recipe was very good but needed a little help. I made as is the first time and it was a solid 4 stars. The second time I used chicken broth instead of the cubes and I always add a little extra so it isn't quite so dry. Instead of onion flakes I sauteed onion, fresh mushrooms, diced red pepper and a couple of diced Roma tomatoes and added this in after the couscous was finished and it went from 4 stars to 5. Thanks for a great recipe.

Chicken Paprikash II

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
This is one of the best recipes I have ever used from this site. I have made it several times and the only changes that I have made is to use olive oil instead of bacon grease, boneless chicken breasts, HUNGARIAN paprika, and I sometimes add diced green peppers if I have them. Sometimes I make spaetzle but if I'm feeling lazy I serve with rice or egg noodles. Delicious, thank you.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
this soup was wonderful...I followed the recipe exactly. The soup was a little greasy even though I drained the sausage on paper towels so maybe next time I'll try it with turkey sausage. It wasn't too spicy at all. I used baby spinach and I would probably substitute kale if I could find it but spinach was good too. The sliced potatoes were beautiful but hard to eat with a spoon so I will cut into smaller pieces next time as well. Thank you for the delicious recipe

Simmered Smoked Links

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
this were very good but the sauce was a little runnier than I would have liked. Very simple and easy to make however and better than store-bought barbeque sauce. Thanks

Blackened Tuna

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
This was very good though I did overcook it. I think my pan was a little too hot and they don't take very long at all. I think I could have cooked it for a little less time. I will make again as it was so simple and quick though I will be sure to not get my pan too hot next time. Thanks

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
I have made this soup many times though I don't make it often because it is very high calorie. I make it exactly as the recipe is written usually with Yukon Gold potatoes. I have tried substituting milk or half and half for the cream and it doesn't not taste nearly as good so I just make it less frequently as a treat. This is the only potato soup I ever make and everyone loves it. Thanks

Black Bean Spinach Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
I have made this pizza several times now and my fiance thinks it is the best pizza he has ever had. The only thing I do differently is cook it for about 15 minutes to make sure that it is hot all the way through. Thanks for the great recipe

Tasty Lentil Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
These are delicious. I have made them numerous times and my meat-eater fiance doesn't even miss the ground beef. The only changes I typically make are to add a little ground coriander with the spices and some chopped fresh cilantro at the end. I have made these with beef broth because I had some left over and it is definitely not as good as when made with the chicken broth. Thanks for the great recipe

Egg Breakfast Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
I have made this twice. The first time as is and the second time with a few changes. The second time a used real bacon chopped into larger bites ( I hate bacon bits) and I also used sausage gravy for the sauce instead of cream of celery. Bad? yes? delicious? yes. Thanks for the great recipe

Creamy Saffron Shrimp with Gnocchi and Caramelized Onion

I found this way too sweet...the flavor was good, just overwhelming. I'm not even sure what I would do to fix it. I won't be making this again...sorry.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
These were delicious. I used 3 large sweet potatoes, though another reviewer suggested using canned which might not be bad if in a hurry. I also used one can of black beans which I pulsed in the food processor and one can of fat free refried beans which was all I had and it was so good I will make it that way all the time though I might try refried black beans to save time. I used less water, only about 1/2 cup and I would add more cayenne next time and maybe some chipotle in adobo. Thanks for the great recipe!

Quick Cassoulet

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
I doubled the recipe because I had a lb. of smoked sausage. I didn't drain the tomatoes and I added some chicken broth and a 1/4 C of red wine. I added a dash of red pepper flakes, chopped bell peppers and I used parsnips instead of carrots because I didn't have any. I simmered it for at least an hour and served over brown rice with a salad and french bread. This was wonderful especially on a cold winter night. Very easy to prepare and I will definitely make again especially because it is made with ingredients that I usually have on hand. Thanks for the great recipe
