Garlicky Beet Delight

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
We love beets and order beet salads whenever we find them on the menu at a Restaurant. So we were already well positioned to love this. And we did! I only had three beets but stuck with the recipe and the dressing was not too much. Also added pepper and I used yellow and pink beets. Do boil with the skin on, they look so much prettier when peeled.

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
I made this cake as written and it was tasty and dense on the day I made it. I used a whipped cream frosting and layered in fresh strawberries. We enjoyed it. I could see though, how it could have been better with more milk and the folding in of eggwhites approach. The second day the cake was DRY and super dense, almost gummy. I think I will try the recipe again ( next time I make a cake) with the modifications cited in so many of the other reviews.

Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 27, 2012
This was very good. A welcome twist on the usual chocolate chip cookie. I used butter. Don't like trans fats. Also added an extra egg yoke, which may not be necessary, just had one I needed to use. It was still very good and my kids and husband really liked them. I will make these again!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
Delicious, crowd pleasing recipe. I have made it exactly as written and have made it with less milk, and both are good--it's just a matter of preference. If you like a thicken pudding, use only two cups of milk. If you like it "smoother" rather than "creamier", use more milk. I also used vanilla flavored almond milk once and loved it! No one detected it, and to me it tasted better. Also did not find it too sweet. Lemon juice on bananas may have helped. If it needs anything, I'd add more Nilla wafers because my kids love them. Great recipe for sure. My husband said: "Keep this recipe." And I will. Thanks for a great recipe.

Cocktail Meatballs I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
Very good sauce. I used it on premade cajun style chicken meatballs and they were very good. Sweet sauce with the spicy meatballs worked out great.

Curried Chicken 'N' Broccoli

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Make this dish! This was WAY better than I expected. I just had some leftover grilled chicken breast and a bunch of broccoli, and I was looking for something to do with them. This surpassed my expectations. I did not use the microwave. I baked it for 40 mins in the oven at 350. We like curry, so I used 1 tsp. It was also a pretty dish. Upload a picture and get this simple recipe the attention it deserves! Thanks.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Four stars because the kids loved it! My husband and I did too. I used chicken breasts (that's what I had) and I didn't even have the dried parsley. I'm looking forward to making it again with the herbs.

Blackberry Cobbler

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
4 stars because it came out a little dry. I'd skip the "roll" part next time and just layer the ingredients as others have done, and I'd add more of the water sugar mixture. I like a moister cobbler. One more thing I'd also use unsalted butter.
