Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Great! I read the reviews and mixed a bit of Panko with the cheese on top, as some suggested. I actually think I would like it better as written, with just cheese. Very easy.

Ham and Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Yum!!! The minor changes I made were: cheddar not swiss, made 12 large not 24 small, and cut WAY back on the egg because I don't like egg and wasn't sure if it would be eggy tasting. I threw in a bit of mayo--again, personal preference. Very easy to throw together and delicious! Thanks for sharing!

Cashew Chicken I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
I enjoyed this very much and have never had anything quite like it. Very easy to make. No trouble with the coating sticking. Hubby was looking for some type of sauce to put over but I thought it was terrific as-is.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
Very good but too rich for me. I would like this better with chocolate pudding as-is, without the condensed milk. Beautiful presentation and very easy.

Reuben Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
We love this and have made several times. I put the meat on the bottom, then sauerkraut, 1,000-island dressing, and top with bread cubes lightly tossed with melted butter. I bake for about 15 minutes until the bread gets crispy, then add grated swiss and bake until the cheese melts. I usually end by broiling the cheese for a minute or two. Yummy.

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
VERY chocolatey. I have made this for three events and it was a big hit each time. I, too, increased the cornstarch to 4 T. and made homemade whipped cream. Fabulous!

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
The crowd went crazy for these, even the little kids. We used Sweet Baby Ray's. Hubby slightly prefers Scott Hibb's Whiskey Ribs from this site but this technique is super-simple and delicious.

Pepper Jelly Glazed Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
Very simple but not quite as good as I had hoped. Will save the recipe as a quick, easy meal when I am looking for something a little different.

Best Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I am not a fan of the egg roll but my husband is so I made these for him. He said they were very good but too heavy on the pork. He suggested cutting the pork in half and using more cabbage (cole slaw). Pretty easy and also pretty fun to make!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
Awesome. I served it at a party and my guests went crazy for it. Pay attention to the recipe--the butter is in pounds, not cups.

I have made this time and again. My whole family loves it and it is one of the EASIEST recipes out there.

Cream Puff Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
Excellent and surprisingly easy. I used hot fudge sauce over the baked layer but otherwise followed the directions exactly. Makes a ton--I will cut the recipe in half the next time I make it.

I had never had anything like this before and we did not like them. My family and I tried a few crackers and but didn't eat the rest. Sorry.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
REALLY good. This was my first time using quinoa and since I bought it in bulk, I soaked and rinsed it. I did not use it until the next day and found that it had sprouted. It was still good but probably less crunchy. I used more corn and fewer black beans than the recipe called for but otherwise followed it exactly. Great as is or wrapped in a tortilla.

Crispy Cucumbers and Tomatoes in Dill Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
Okay but not great. I like all of the ingredients seperately but somehow this didn't do much for me. If I decide to make it again, I may use red wine vinegar instead.

Blooming Onion and Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
Dipping sauce only--We use a different recipe for onion rings so we did not try this one but the recipe for the sauce is great! The perfect touch. Just like in restaurants. I did not make any changes. I may try cutting back on the horseradish a bit next time but it is excellent as-is.
