Turnip Souffle

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
I just made it last night and I am really impressed. I've never been a fan of turnips, but had a LOT of them in my CSA this week. I followed this recipe but added one fuji apple and topped the whole thing with cheddar cheese. It's almost gone now, and I'm wondering if I should get MORE turnips to make us another! Highly Recommended! I think that peeling them and boiling them with a bit of sugar makes all the difference.

Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
This soup is officially a hit! I've made it 3 times now and each time I play with it, it just gets better. I also like adding cayenne powder and have used both Italian-style-canned tomatoes and fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes. Celery and carrots both go well in this, but I might avoid potatoes, as they thicken the broth a bit and the broth is my favourite part. I used powdered vegetable bullion, as some of my family are vegetarian. I have another cabbage in my fridge right now that is begging to be in this soup!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
Delicious! This is a good basic quiche recipe, and as in the description, it is infinitely flexible. I took what I had, canned and fresh spinach, cheddar and parmasan cheese, put those into the mix with sautéed garlic and onion, and then topped it off with slices on fresh heirloom tomato and more cheese. I baked it for 40 minutes and let it cool atop the stove. This quiche was better than what I can get at the local bakery, and very moist! I would make sure you don't overcook it.
