Cheddar and Olive Balls

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2011
This has been in my family forever. It's a MUST for cocktail parties. People devour them! I add a splash of Tobasco and Worchestire to it though.

I made this as the recipe stated. It was just ok when served warm. BUT it was AMAZING when served chilled the next day!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
OhMyGawd. If I could, I'd rate this 1,000 starts. It's absolutely amazing. I did add garlic and used only Parmesean cheese {no Romano}. I wanted to drink this sauce straight! LOL

Eggnog Blend

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I made this a couple of years ago, and will be making it again this CHristmas since I'm not pregnant this year! A few things: no need to add ice cream, with all that heavy cream and sugar that'd be a waste. Also, you can use just dark rum and brandy - no scotch. THat's what I do and it's popular at my house. It won't last long! Double the recipe!

Grandma's Coconut Pies

AMAZING! I made the recipe as it states, except I made a homemade crust from graham crackers and macadamia nuts. It was a HIT!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
AMAZING! The only things I changed: cut the sugar in half and also used butter, instead of vegetable oil. This was delicious and I've made it several times in the past few weeks. Thanks!

Homemade Vanilla

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
EXCELLENT, QUALITY and INexpensive! I bought the cheap bottle of vodka ($6) and got 30 Madagascar vanilla beans on eBay for $10. THIS IS THE BEST VANILLA. EVER! You will not be disappointed. I'm bottling it, adding a recipe and giving it as gifts for the holidays!

These were pretty good - I agree w/ some of the other reviewers in that they need something .... I'll make again, but add some choc. chips. (I made exactly as the recipe states.) Super easy and all gone in one day.

Easy Sour Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I followed the recipe as it states (except I made my own grahm cracker crust) and it turned out pretty good! The best part was that it isn't too sweet annnnnnnnnd it was SUPER easy! I impressed my inlaws with this one, so definitely a keeper! I added strawberries to the top, when served.

Easy Beer Bread Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
Oh My Goodness!! This is amazing! I followed the recipe to a "T" w/ the exception of adding dried rosemary, shredded sharp cheddar cheese and garlic powder to the mix. This was a HIT at Easter dinner! This will be my new "gift" at holidays ... replacing my old standby, banana bread. Thanks for the GREAT recipe! VERY versatile too ... I can't wait to test w/ jalapenos and/or chilis!

Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Crabmeat

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
This recipe (plus minced garlic in cream cheese/crab part) has been in my family for years! It's an absolute favorite. I don't brown the chicken on the stove top though, I bread it using panko crumbs then bake (covered) for 45 minutes. Delicious - will make you never want to order (and pay the steep price) for crab stuffed chicken in restaurants! PS - do yourself a favor and don't use imitation crab meat - the REAL stuff is only $5 for 8 oz, and soooo worth it!!!!!!

Buttermilk Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
Oh my goodness, these are YUMMY!!!! The only difference: I used butter instead of oil and I added cranberries and walnuts, plus I made in a 9x13 pan, cut into squares. My husband and I finished off an entire recipe in 2 days! Not sweet, but sweet enough for breakfast or snack. I also added ground flax seed.

Rocky Road Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
I was pretty disappointed with this recipe. I followed the recipe as it states and a big, gooey mess came out of it. I think it's too sweet (and I'm even pregnant w/ a huge sweet tooth at the moment) and it needs some salt. It was difficult to cut into "bars" and even more difficult to wash hands after eating! I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I was hoping for so much more! :(

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
AMAZING!!! A few things: add garlic and onions to the olive oil/butter in the beginning, brown the chicken and then REMOVE it. Then brown the mushrooms and add the wine and a few splashes of heaving whipping cream. Add the chicken back in and turn the heat to low to help thicken the sauce. This was GREAT!!!! Super easy but a little time consuming. WELL WORTH IT! I also served the cheese onion garlic bread that's on this site too. YUM

Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
I would have given it 4 stars because of the MESS it made, but everyone did love the final outcome which is why I had to give it the max. A few things - 1.) After cooking the brown sugar and butter, I let it cool and thicken. (I didn't do this on the first batch and it was a DISASTER - ran down into the bottom of the oven!) 2.) Use a tray with a "lip" or a "jellyroll pan" ... this helped keep the crackers in place and the sugar/butter mixture contained in the oven. 3.) Graham crackers and Club crackers are thicker than soda crackers. This helped. The batch I made w/ soda crackers were soggy. I did have to make a few times before figuring it all out, but the final outcome was a HIT!

Buckeyes I

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
I've had this recipe in my family for a long time, except mine calls for 2 cups of rice crispy cereal - it makes for a fun crunchy version. EVERY time I make it, people gobble them up so fast - and, I eat too many - so many that I can't stand peanut butter for awhile afterward. :)
