About this Cook
Although I don't consider myself a beginner, I still have a great deal to learn. However, my cooking skills are improving each day.
My favorite things to cook
So may recipes out there use way too many ingredients. While these recipes may produce mouth watering meals, the process is too daunting. My favorite things to cook are recipes that are simple but tasty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy cooking foods that are healthy. My favorite cook on Food TV is Ellie Kreigher. I admire anyone who can create heart healthy meals that are enjoyable.
My cooking triumphs
My most famous cooking triumph is making a turkey meatball with quick and spicy tomato sauce with spaghetti, an Ellie Kreigher recipe. Each time I cook this, people rave over how good it is. They think I am a professional chef. It's enjoyable to see how my creations make people happy.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to roast garlic cloves without reading how to do it properly. I placed a few individual cloves on a tray and put the try inside my gas grill. What a disaster! They turned out black and smelly. The next time, I read how to roast garlic properly and it yielded a much better result.

Roast Chicken with Rosemary
This chicken turned out to be incredibly moist and tender. The rosemary, garlic, onion and lemon really infused the chicken with excellent flavors! I did not chop my rosemary so I could remove it completely from the chicken cavity. I placed a Weber chicken rub and olive oil on the outside skin. Will definitely make this again.

Parmesan Asparagus
A good recipe, however, you may want to kick up the amount of seasonings to add the necessary flavor. Instead of garlic salt, I used 3 cloves of minced garlic and a dash of sea salt. Also, I used olive oil instead of cooking spray. Olive oil doesn't have the chemicals found in cooking spray. Finally, I added diced red onions and sliced mushrooms to the asparagus before baking everything. This side dish was great with my baked salmon and white rice. The soft red onions and mushrooms oozed into the white rice which added flavor to the rice.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs
A five star recipe. Instead of baking the ribs in the oven, I placed mine in the gas grill and browned them for 30 minutes. To save time, I used a good quality barbeque sauce instead of the ingredients in this recipe. I really like the concept of cooking ribs in an oven and slow cooker. A very tasty recipe.
