The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
Very good. As recommended by others I added 2/3 cup lemon juice to the filling, and a dash of salt to the crust. Had to chill over night to completely set...next time i'll bake a couple extra minutes.

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Fabulous! Had 15 people for Thanksgiving and we went through both bags of punch!! People who usually go for the beer went for this punch instead! I only used 1 1/2 cups sugar, and used ginger ale instead of lemon lime. Very very good!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Outstanding! My family usually won't eat sweet potatoes, but I made these for Thanksgiving and they all went! As suggested I used 5 baked sweet potatoes, 1/4 tsp of nutmeg, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, substituted evaporated milk, upped the vanilla to 1 tsp, and 1 tsp cin. I also doubled the topping. I'll have to make anothe batch this weekend to go w/ the Thanksgiving left overs!

Spooky Calzone Snake

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
Made this for our family's annual Spooky Halloween feast...looked great! And we all enjoyed it. We changed the filling to fit our taste, including some olives and fresh red pepper, and omitting the ricotta cheese. We will make it again. Thanks!

Orange Party Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Very tasty punch! Made it for Halloween and floated gummy worms in it. Kids and adults both enjoyed it. I plan to make it again for a bday party.

Marshmallow Truffles

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I made these for our parent's night pot luck at my son's Boy Scout camp with the following changes.... I used giant marshmallows (about 4 inches in diameter) and put them on a lollipop stick before dipping them. Then after dipping I sprinkled them with a combination of crushed graham crackers and brown sugar. I called them s'mores on a stick. They were the first thing gone off the table and I had tons of teenage boys coming to find me to rave about them and thank me for them. Meanwhile they hardly touched the cookies, cakes and other sweets available. Thanks for the great idea!!

Pineapple Chicken Delight

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
Excellent. Made it just as written except I used red instead of green pepper, and pineapple chunks instead of rings. Turned out perfect...had no problems with the potatoes cooking..they came out just right!

Much too dry without much flavor. Strawberries were too sweet.

Apple Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
This cake is great! My son absolutely loves it. The only changes I make is that I added a little more apple to it, and I make a simply glaze out of the powder sugar. For a change sometimes I put a little spray butter on it and warm it up. Very yummy.

Hummingbird Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
I was really disappointed with this cake. As some suggested I reduced the oil to 3/4 and added about a 1/4 cup of butter milk. The batter tasted great but the cake tasted like there was mayo in it or something. Too bad.
