When Time Vanishes - Knoephla Soup

Yesterday, in an attempt to stay warm, I made Knoephla Soup, which I found rather distasteful, but mostly an issue with the way I "made" the knoephla themselves! So, we'll "blame" the recipe, and my expertise! I was expecting potato soup, in a chicken
broth, with "dumplings," which I guess is an accurate description of what I produced... but the knoephla themselves were stodgy and not too appealing! I ended up with 1/2 inch diameter little balls of pasta (basically) that were just "too much!" I'm guessing
that they should have been little slivers of pasta... but then, what do I know? So, I won't say that I won't attempt this again, but I will most definately handle the dough in a different manner.
Meantime, the reason I've been absent for so long, is that the heater went out on the balk portion of our house... "my" rooms, of course, so I've been freezing to death! First, I called my heating/air conditioning guy, who called a contractor friend of his,
who spoke to our home owners insurance company... From there, we had to have an "adjuster" come by to write a report, which needs to be approved or denied... I'll bet that by the time it's 100 degrees outside every day, I will once again have heat back
here in my rooms!
Rather than prattle on about the woes of dealing with the insurance + to fix the heat ( and a/c, and roof!) I'll let it go...Needless to say, I've been in a bit of a funk dealing with all of these folks! Maybe by next week, all will be well on the roof - as
long as it doesn't rain, that is!
So, an hour ago, I stopped in to make a blog post regarding the knoephla, and much to my surprise, my MEMBERSHIP had expired, which took a few minutes to go "find" a credit card, and jump through those hoops! Fortunately, AR makes that relatively easy, with
no "waiting time" between making a payment, and being allowed to return to "business as usual!"
Forgive me if it's a few days or more before I return to chat with you all! Sometime over the next few "business days" our power co. will be here to change the meter -- AND I'll have to be here, to let them into the back yard! Who will "rain on my parade"
next? No doubt, repairs will commence which will require me to be here! Hope we don't NEED anything in the meantime!
Maybe I'll make a pot of soup each day, and jump from K to Q in short order! Till next time, I'll try not to tear out my last three hairs, while continuing to be -
healthy, happy, and crazy!
