Pan-Seared Tilapia

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
This is an absolutely beautiful and simple recipe. I was looking for an easy way to prepare my tilapia on allrecipes, but you'd be amazed at what most people consider "easy" or "simple". This recipe really fit-the-bill, though. The one difference I made to the recipe was that I used Kentucky Kernel Seasoned Flour, but I'm sure it still would have been golden brown and delicious with regular all-purpose flour, too. I paired this fish with bacon and brussel sprouts as a side-dish. Everybody in the house thoroughly enjoyed this tilapia, so this recipe is a keeper!

Dad's Asian Slaw

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
When I was about 10 a small cafe opened up downtown, close to where I live. One of the first things I ever tried from it was a "pasta salad" my mother had purchased for me. I knew that it consisted of what looked like coleslaw and ramen noodles, but didn't have the slightest idea as to how they made it. I've searched allrecipes repeatedly, looking for anything similar, but always managed to come up short. Then I found this purely by accident the other day while looking for ways to doll up some ramen. THIS IS IT! This is exactly what I'd looked for. I did slightly alter the recipe, because I had chicken ramen, but it still came out beautifully! I also didn't have the specific nuts listed, but I did have a can of crushed mixed-nuts for Sundae toppings (cashews, peanuts, pecans), which worked wonderfully. This is an excellent recipe, and if you like slaw, you'll LOVE this! Thank you!

Shrimp Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
I'm not huge on parmesean, so next time I'll take the advice of one of the other reviewers and use breadcrumbs, or some other topping. Also, I did use a couple of other suggestions listed here, such as adding cream cheese to the sauce, and the addition of parsley and cracked black pepper. I think had I not used them, it wouldn't have affected anything too much, just a tad extra flavor and color. This was a great recipe, overall. Not difficult to make, and doesn't require too many ingredients (in fact, you may have most of these ingredients lying around your kitchen). Five stars!

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I omitted the baking powder and used only 2 eggs, as the previous reviewer suggested--with these modifications, the brownies turned out wonderfully.
