Married, with 2 German Shepherds and 3 cats! We also have assorted stray cats that we feed. Oh, and the birds, squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks! I love tossing out unsalted in the shell peanuts and watching the crows come to eat them.

My favorite things to cook
Chinese, italian and hot and spicy. I like making exotic things like paella and pho. I hate figuring out what to have for supper, but once that's decided I go all out.
I am able to tweak a recipe to make it my own. I usually make things on the fly and eyeball everything so to ask me to write down a recipe is almost an impossibility. Very seldom do I make the same thing the same way twice.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's side of the family are great cooks. Our potato salad and Thanksgiving dressing are still the best I've ever ate. I was brought up to make everything from scratch, although I don't follow that rule so much anymore. Boxed cake mixes are just as good as homemade in my opinion. Unless it's chocolate mayonnaise cake!
My cooking triumphs
Homemade spaghetti sauce made with REAL tomatoes. Stir fried sno peas. I make a mean paella, pho, beef stew, jambalaya, and spicy chex mix. I have a super red beans and rice recipe that I made up if you look at the recipes I've saved. It'll be under 'personal recipe'. Also look for my Zesty Rhubarb pie. It's delicious.
My cooking tragedies
I have to make sure I don't overcook or undercook pastas. I'm usually off doing something else so if I don't set a timer, I forget about it!
