Excellent ! pureed half with a plunge blender, used the chicken stock I had on hand since I didn't have vegetable bullion or stock. Will make again!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Absolutely YUM! I was nervous never having made brownies without baking powder.... but they were wonderful! Took the suggestion and put in 1 cup brown sugar to 2 parts white sugar, just happened to have some really dark cocoa, and they were so rich and flavourful... Thank you!

Iced Coffee Slush

Thank you Iola, I have been trying to duplicate the "Ice Caps" that Tim Hortins sell in Canada and you saved me a small fortune in addition to adding a wonderful summer drink to our list of favourites. Although your recipe is perfect just the way it is, we sometimes add a splash of chocolate syrup to the glass for a change of taste.

Lola's Horchata

We have never had "authentic" Horchata so I can't compare it, however, we absolutely love this drink. My wife insists that a jug be kept in the refrigerator from June until fall. We first had a Rum Chata and since we couldn't buy it in Canada I went looking for a recipe. Thank you so much Lola, the only changes I have made to your recipe are to add the cinnamon to the rice and then strain both through a piece of cheesecloth in my strainer. This keeps the floating bits down. When it goes into the jug I add a cinnamon stick to the mix and just leave it in the jug in the fridge. I also use 50/50 white long grain rice and Basmatti since it is what we usually keep in the house. The last addition for a warm summer evening is an ounce or two (depending upon your glass size) of spiced rum, we like Sailor Jerry's but any will do.

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

My wife had cut up some tenderloin the night before to do a stir fry and we had a change of plans, so the next morning I made up the marinate and left the pork in the fridge all day in a sealed bag with the marinate. When I came home, the pieces went on the grill and were done in less than 10 minutes. Two teenagers were fighting (ok nothing new) but over the last of the pork?

Butterscotch Pie I

Excellent, cooked the filling in the microwave and it was ready in no time! Be sure and whisk frequently. Not overly sweet as some of the other recipes here.
