About this Cook
I loovveee to bake!!! I like to be in the kitchen inherently but I really enjoy baking. There is something so comforting and lovely about the way a kitchen smells when baked goods are being produced. I am also a photographer/artist/craft fanatic if you were interested you could see some of my work here or here Or you check out my blog here
My favorite things to cook
Just about anything! Anything new, I love trying new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas is always my favorite cooking time of the year. Every year I pick about 10 different baked good item recipes, narrow it down to my favs. and then give them as gifts to friends and family.
My cooking triumphs
I have recently venture into cake decorating and just completed my very first cake made with fondant. It came out a little rough but I'm still very proud of my effort. I never before saw a reason to do anything more than slap some icing on a cake (not that I don't still do it) but I now see how fun and creative it can feel to play with decorating. I may have found my new passion...
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make biscotti, the recipe recommended that the baking sheet be lined with parchment paper. I proceeded to line my baking sheet with what I thought was parchment paper. Not long after placing my sheet in the oven, smoke started to seep out around the oven door seal. Upon opening smoke billowed out filling the kitchen with the nastiest stench ever, the smoke detector started screeching, my two dogs started howling and my neighbor called to make sure she didn't need to notify the volunteer fire department. What I thought was parchment turned out to be wax paper it...was...not...pretty.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies
These turned out super dry so much so they just crumbled apart when touched. Even falling apart I was willing to give them a shot in the taste department but they just don't deliver.

Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce
This is so easy and quick with a few adjustments this could very well be one of my top go to meals. I halved the amount of cayenne (my husband is not very heat tolerant) and it had just the right amount of pep. I also followed the advice of other reviewers and cut the chicken broth back to 1/2 cup, sliced up a medium onion to add to the mix and used three very large cloves of garlic. Over all the flavor was good but for our taste lacked little something..but its def. worth experimenting with to get just right for us! Thank you for a wonderful base recipe :)
