About this Cook
I have been married for three years. Currently live in PA with my husband and our two boston terrier dogs. I am a social worker so when I get home I like to cook things that are relatively easy and stress free. My husband and I do tend to go out a lot to eat so Im not that great of a cook or very experienced. I love to travel, the best place Ive been to is Jamaica but Im looking forward to a trip to Italy one day to have great Italian food!
My favorite things to cook
I like to make lasagna that my mom taught me how to make. I also was inspired by a recipe I had at a restaurant so I tried to make it at home. Its puff pastry with chicken, mozzarella, and chive cream cheese. Thats about as fancy as I get when it comes to dinner. I love making cookies and baked goods for my county fair as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Ukranian so for Christmas eve we always eat homemade pieroghi, bread and sourkraut soup. That is a tradition I hope to continue with my own family one day. My mother also bakes a ham but you cannot have that until after midnight mass! :)
My cooking triumphs
I guess my many championships that I have won via the days I was a 4-Her with my baked goods..including chocolate chip cookies, drop cookies, yeast bread, bannana nut bread/muffins, and coffee cake.
My cooking tragedies
Right after my husband and I got married I was making some sort of dinner where I was using multiple pans. I accidently turned on one of the burners and set a pyrex dish on it, obviously not paying attention! A few minutes later it exploded all over the kitchen. Luckily I and the dogs at my feet were unharmed...I cant say the same for the pyrex dish or the carpet that glass landed on. Luckily I got a new kitchen floor out of the deal!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
I thought this was a good and very easy recipe. I added Franks Hot Wing sauce, I could not find a 17.5 oz bottle of hot sauce the recipe called for so I used most of the bottle of the wing sauce that I had bought. I thought that the chicken needed some liquid as the hot sauce pretty much evaporated when it cooked in the slow cooker. I ended up adding some water to it during the last hour or so of cooking time. I would make this again, its great topped with ranch or blue cheese dressing and some cheese!

Pumpkin Fluff Dip
I absolutely love this dip. I made it for my Halloween party and everyone thought it was unique. The color was a little strange but it was all gone and I was licking the bowl! Delicious! Great served with graham crackers or ginger snaps. This is definetly a keeper.

Kelsey's Cheesy Bacon Breasts
I thought this recipe was ok. I made it last night for my husband who said he was tired of the same thing. I wasnt really a fan of the mustard, I thought the recipe would have been just fine with bbq sauce. Maybe trying different bbq sauces would be best, like honey bbq or smokey bbq. If i make this again ill probably omit the mustard. I did like that this recipe was easy and I think the browning of the chicken beforehand just dirties another dish so its not reallly necessary. Also I didnt add the cheese and bake it in the oven, instead I took it out of the oven placed a slice of cheddar on each breast then put foil over the top while I made my side dish. It melted the cheese perfectly. Overall a good dish and something different to have.
