Crab Cakes II

Ok, these crab cakes gave me a really good jumping off point. We used imitation crab and we had to run it through the food processer to chop it fine. Then I added dill and garlic powder and old bay seasoning to the crab in addition to the ground mustard. we chilled it for 20 minutes, and just as we were getting ready to form the cakes, we added the crushed crackers to the crab, instead of rolling them. they held together MUCH better, and everyone in my family LOVED them!! (even my 3 year old, and he's PICKY!!!) we will definatly be adding this to our regular rotation. Also, for something different, add a teaspoon of dill and a 1/2 tsp garlic powder to 3 tsp of mayo and use as a dipping sauce or sandwich spread. Gives the cakes a different taste than just plain butter.

Dad's Pan-Fried Green Beans

These green beans were AWESOME!! Everyone in my family loved them!! I would agree that you don't need the vinigar, you can't taste it. And I didn't have frozen green beans, so I used canned and it was wonderful! Just drain the beans really well and heat them in the microwave, instead of steaming them!! I will be making these many more times!!

French Onion Soup I

This recipe was awesome!! My entire family loved it. It was so quick and so flavorful!! I did make a couple of changes, though. I didn't add the red wine, I just added a touch more beef broth. And I added a couple of dashes of Worchestire sauce and about 1/2 tsp of garlic powder. It's a great recipe, especially for someone with out a lot of time for cooking. I would recommend slow cooking the onions, it breaks them down and they carmalize much better that way.
